Hey Brogden, I took popular out of the options more years ago than i would ever waste the time to count. Me, mine, community. The rest of the nation can sort things for itself.DM x
Renaming council tax is a fab idea Dragon. Name ideas anyone?

Well........onwards and upwards as they say :)

The world goes through 'several shades of madness' and here I am....here I still am ........Ha! !! (You'd think I'd been around for ever wouldn't you?)

I have lots of financial stuff to talk about but would like my thread to be a bit more 'spiritual' so I am going to try my best :)! I will probably find I am straight back into the mundane trauma in no time but well....I can try, think.....dream.......:)

Right 'spiritual' .........pass me that funny cigarette man

I am looking forward to March, to Easter. I am looking forward to the clocks changing. I am looking forward to shirt sleeves in the outdoors. I am looking forward to mowing the lawn and the smell which changes my outlook and feelings completely. I am looking forward to cutting the trees, the bushes, a spotlessly clean patio (a long way to go there :( ) and the sounds and sight of birds singing and landing in the birdbath.....rushing for crumbs of bread.

I am looking forward to sipping wine out of doors in a light evening. I might even be looking forward to cooking in the garden (or maybe not :( )

In the meantime there will be a bit of carp to be borne and a bit of carp thereafter to be completely honest but we can't have it all one way.....I keep telling myself. Just a little bit of light after so much shade :) !!

My next post will focus in on the wisdom of taking out payday loans. There will never again be any mention of council tax however :D

You're right.....I am prone to figurative, tongue in cheek drivel :(

I beg to be misunderstood. Its just as well I'm not a celebrity or politician as I would be in the papers all of the time :rotfl:.

Have you got any Council PR work I could be involved in? I don't mind wearing a sandwich board? :)

I hope everybody is having a good weekend.

I am feeling very limbo-ish currently :(. I just feel as though I am waiting for the end of month when my little bit of funding arrives to do some more serious debt busting than I have ever done before. I want to put all my time prepping for that but then I feel like I am 'over-prepping' and spending so much time on the PC that everybody thinks I'm doing something naughty like messaging 'scarlet-ladies' :rotfl:Honestly.....can you imagine :p!!

Its freezing which doesn't help and whilst I don't really want to go outside, I am going to get a job done........mend the side gate which took a real hammering in the recent storms. I've just been measuring it up and my fingers are so numb I can almost not use this keyboard :D

After a while you just get into the swing of it and debt busting becomes part of your normal routine rather than your primary focus.

Hope the gate mending goes well and you don't get too cold. I'm cozying up inside today, too cold outside and OH is at work so I can do as I please.

    Morning All :)!!

Another week of pain and suffering flies by. As per usual I am thinking of my finances 24/7. It will only be about three weeks until my little bit of funding comes to get some F&F's (partial & finals) sorted and do some other things, all of which are intended to be very sensible things to make life better, make ordinary living more efficient and hopefully reduce stress.

Mrs B has booked a holiday but that's not for me and I have just overcome the temptation to book horrendously overpriced tickets for one of my favourite bands. I am attempting complete frugality and abject sensibleness. Like Ulysses, I may hear the sirens sing but I am tied to the mast :(. I am to fight the good fight hoping along the way someone may chuck me a can of beer and afford me an evening of peace. That'll do :rotfl:!!

    So......confirmed jobs:-

    - At the end of the month on my week's leave British Grass will instal a 'HIVE.' I am trying for the first time in my life to be 'energy efficient' and I have concluded I cannot do this with the Gas unless there is some sensible 'boiler regulation.' For far too long we have been switching it on and off, hurtling from sub arctic temperatures to equatorial sweltering. I would be really interested to hear of anybody's experience with these things :o

    - The huge trees in the garden will be cut to permit the entry of sunlight and air to (errr)......aid the enjoyment of the natural life :D.

    Other jobs to be added.......:(

I don't know for certain by how much the debt mountain will be reduced in the next few weeks but as some people will know, I am becoming increasingly obsessed with mortgage reduction :). It is becoming apparent that I am not fully taking advantage of the tax reliefs available to me in pension planning and, taking account of the chancellor's new cynical, vote winning 'pension freedoms' believe this may be the best route to 'financial freedom' and the end of the mortgage :T:)

I am currently completely obsessed with this idea and will return with some number crunches later when I have done them :p !!

This cordless keyboard is behaving like a b*tch so I'll sign off for now, for batteries / reboot whatever and I'll explain my idea later as some people will think I've gone mad (again) :rotfl::rotfl::p!!
