We're all going Pension potty at the moment :D First SkinnyLatte, then me and now you too. I am wondering what an IFA will say comparing OPs to mortgage vs. more in the pension pot...I suspect they'll fall on the pension side as the added tax is worth it - but it's the unknown when it comes to getting it back :rotfl:

Governments like to change pension rules all the time...and I'm a bit too risk averse. Perhaps an IFA will give me a good talking to :D

Lucky Mrs Broggers on her holiday and good you've some more lenders to nuke into orbit. :)
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18

    Thanks Ali :) !!

I do think you are right. I am trying to make up for some lost ground and if I can't repay the mortgage, I will have something as opposed to nothing :o. I am not sure an IFA would advise you to do anything other than everything you are so wonderfully doing :).

You know, at a time where we live with maximum transparency in all things and lunatic political correctness, the leaders of industry and government seem to be trying to outdo each other in the battle to be the most 'bent.' :( Like you, I trust nothing........and.........if the polling booth were in my kitchen I couldn't be bothered crossing the hall :rotfl:!!!!

    Have a great week m'dear :) !!

I only found out what a 'skinnylatte' was a few weeks ago when buying one for a lady colleague :o. I said 'a what?' In a quiet and gentlemanly voice of course :) !!

Hope to speak again shortly. I loved your pension story :T

I am absolutely fuming  !!

As I have mentioned, I will be making some 'partial & finals' (P&F's) soon and next week should be a big one for me..........

My biggest dept is owned by Lower Portfolio and is administered by Wuscot. It is more than three weeks since I made an offer to Wuscot. They wanted to know my full financial circumstances, where the money was coming form, my inside leg measurement and the colour of my underpants and were to transmit all of this to Lower who would advise if this was acceptable.

I have chased Wuscot twice for this and finally lost my temper today and called Lower direct who had no knowledge at all of my request. The net result of all of this is they are sacking Wuscot on this debt and dealing directly with me - that will take 10 days. So........let's see.....that takes us to next Friday when hopefully I can finally get a deal with the decision makers.

Words fail me except for odd ones like 'pond life,' 'worthless' and 'numpties.'

    My biggest debt......aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrghhhhhhhh

I should be really happy.........a week off work now and I hope to be doing some partial and finals (P&F's let's get it right!) in the next few days.

Of course we never have some funds and nothing to spend on do we so.......

The Trees - I got a quote yesterday and they are being cut on Wednesday - £700

The Heating - British Grass are installing the 'Hive' temperature controlling theromstat thingy also on Wednesday £199 :o They really duped me.......I thought £199 was much much less than £200 until Mrs. B explained :p I hope this is the end of 'heating improvisation' and will allow proper gas budgetting and control as I have all but failed in this area :o

The Damp - Quoted this week and requires 3 feet of plaster taken off my office wall and injections of damp course stuff and replaster. It will take 3 days and I'll have to work elsewhere - £700

Right - the rest of the funds will be applied to 'financial improvements' and clearing the way for my 'pensions project.' This is on my mind all of the time and I want to start in March although I am anticipating I will not get up a full head of steam until early summer. Gotta make sure I keep my job ;)

Have a great Sunday all :)

What a busy week Brogden! Good Luck with the P&Fs ...keeping everything crossed for you.

Well done on keeping everything moving forwards on all fronts:T.
Trees....ah yes. We have had a tree dead 3 years now and have had quotes 3 times to get it taken down as it is very very tall, and behind the garage. Became very urgent over the last year as all bark was falling off so there was a huge risk it would come down in winds. Last quote was in December - £750 plus VAT. WE decided to go ahead but then they couldn't fit it in before Christmas. Every stormy night I couldn't sleep for fear that it would come down and damage property. Well .....In January, in the period I wasn't posting, it came down! snapped clean in half. It missed the garage, all three cars and the house. The top half fell into another huge tree. It meant that it was accessible so that we could chainsaw it into logs ourselves. Saving £1000 and stocking up in firewood for the rest of the year.:rotfl: I :rotfl:was :rotfl:born :rotfl:lucky. :rotfl:
