And again no, the 3 series and M series are different. On their website they are under different categories; under the M cars category.0

But this is a thread about some all round tyres.0

Convenient. I'll add this to the 'darkmatter101' glossary:darkmatter101 wrote: »I meant understeer
M3 = imaginary M3
Yaris = my girlfriend's car
Bought = looked at on internet
Delivered = saved in my favourites
Test drove = on my Xbox
Oversteer = Understeer0 -

You mean, like all of the cars that aren't M3s that YOU dismiss no matter how great they are at what they do?0 -
Can you sling a bike in the back? No? Useless car for me.darkmatter101 wrote: »And again no, the 3 series and M series are different. On their website they are under different categories; under the M cars category.
Has it got a decent auto? No? Not interested. I don't need to wiggle a stick to get from A to B.
Can I insure it for a couple of hundred quid? Didn't think so.
Do I want to have to have extra house security because they are popular cars to steal? No.
Will it get me from A to B more quickly than my current car while driving lawfully? No.
Does it get 60mpg while still having good performance? No.
I'm afraid you just don't get it. There is nothing money saving about your fabled M3 and this is not the place to be going on about it. Plenty of people here can't afford to run even the dodgy old car that they don't really want, so having someone running around telling them that they need to be spending silly money when they struggle to balance their budgets every month is pretty unpleasant.
So, with your vast experience of Vauxhall Astra's, what tyre would you recommend?
I think Quadraxer are good for typical UK conditions - most UK tyres are not really all year round tyres yet in the UK that is exactly what nearly everyone thinks they are buying.0 -
Given that we still don't know what size tyre...IanMSpencer wrote: »So, with your vast experience of Vauxhall Astra's, what tyre would you recommend?0 -

Another good point to raise here is that there are plenty of people here who can afford to run an M3, but choose not to because we'd rather pay off our mortgage, live debt-free, own an island, have four holidays a year, or are older than 14.0 -
M5 went to pay a grand a month mortgage, priorities....
Darkmatter, do you have a mortgage?
Do you have any pics of M3?
I have plenty of my M cars, you must have too....0 -

Spot-on comment there.
As we approach winter we will have the annual "We manage fine without winter tyres." posts again.0 -

Ermm yes the M3 has a DCT double clutch transmission. One of the best 'automatics' boxes out right now.
As for the tyres, if the OP is on buget get the Kumho. If not go for Goodyear efficientgrip0
