You're missing the hideous ride quality (so bad you don't want it as a daily driver), terrible fuel consumption, massive insurance costs and massive running costs. Maybe on a nice stretch of road it's the better car, but most of us would choose the Mondeo for everything else.
The Mondeo is pretty well regarded even if it is FWD, which you can still have fun in. The X-Type is available in both FWD or AWD, though it's a heavy car so it's not *that* fast (fast enough though), whilst being really quite a nice place to be. I wouldn't swap you mine for an M3, anyway.
Ride quality is bad because London roads are just terrible. You say the M3 is the better car on a long stretch but I beg to differ. It is the superior car even on short city drives compared to an X-type or Mondeo. It is the better car in EVERY way and by a LONG stretch. Tell me, if someone offered to swap your FWD Mondeo commuter car for an M3 free of charge would you not do it?
And please don't say you will and sell the m3 immediately for profit0 -

And yes I recently changed them for Autoguards as they all had just under 3mm of tread. Don't see why that's so hard to understand? My girlfriend has had the Autoguards for a while now and for my observation they seem well lasting, more so than the Nankangs.
Of course they are lasting well, they are on the rear of an FWD imaginary car, being driven by a fantasy person.
I've got some Bridgestones on my summer wheels, very hard wearing, I've driven around the surface of the moon four times with them and still have 6mm of tread. Amazing.
As for the Lexus that you said you had "finally taken delivery of", that turned out well for you too.0 -

I don't quite follow your logic here. You say you prioritise road safety yet think that a car like the Citreon handles well? A car with better handling (i.e. less oversteer and stopping distance) with budget tyres would probably still handles better and therefore be safer than a car with poor handling with premium tyres.
Also I would think twice before getting a used premium tyre. If money were a constraint, it be safer to purchase a brand new budget chinese tyre than a part worn premium tyre. You do not know weather that used tyre has had any punctures or repaired damage etc.
However I do agree that premium tyres are better than budge ones clearly, but not sure weather they are always worth the extra premium. In most cases they probably are, if you can get them at a good price
I presume your surreal reference to the Citroen is in reply to me?
What on earth are you talking about, oversteer and stopping distances on a FWD hard sprung C2 VTS Diesel the vary last thing you will experience is oversteer, do you even know what oversteer is?
So now better tyres are better than budget tyres?
I give up, you've beaten me, this trip into the world of the mad hatter has to come to an end, bye.0 -

Because it's designed for German roads and not British roads, that makes the ride quality in the UK poor. The ride will be awful anywhere that isn't fresh tarmac or a track. I know; I had a car with solid suspension back when the roads weren't so awful. I got rid of it for a luxobarge and never looked back.
I disagree, and so do you. You complained you nearly crashed the M3 because it's so sensitive. That's never happened in my X-Type Mondeo. I dare say the Mondeo is also more comfortable in stop/start traffic or long trips. You say the M3 is the better car on a long stretch but I beg to differ. I already said I would turn down the M3. Why would I want a noisy, crashy middle-manager-mobile to judder around town at 5mph?Tell me, if someone offered to swap your FWD Mondeo commuter car for an M3 free of charge would you not do it?

I want something quiet and comfortable when I'm waiting in traffic.
You need to realise that adults don't care so much about impressing people, and that not everyone wants something like an M3. You're allowed to enjoy your M3, but it's not the pinnacle of motoring you want to believe it is, not will it make anyone like you. To most of us it's a terrible choice of car driving by people trying too hard to show off.0 -

I said before "I have no interest whatsoever in so called performance cars" and I wouldn't want an M3 as a gift, when i was ten i may have snatched your arm off but now i am grown up i have no interest whatsoeverYou say the M3 is the better car on a long stretch but I beg to differ. And if the M3 is such a good all round car then why have you got a toyota yaris?0 -

It's pretty obvious that you haven't driven an M3 before let alone any high performance/sports car. You also say its a middle manager's car? I don't recall the last time I remember seeing a middle manager using an M3 as a company car. Most "middle-managers" as you say, use the BMW 320D as a company car. Completely different to the M3.
It's pretty clear you don't respect the M3 for what it is. You see it as a car to 'show off,' and say that its a terrible choice of car? Please enlighten me with this statement. The M3 isn't crashy or anything like you describe. Just because you have driven a car (care to say which?)with rock hard suspension does that mean the M3 will be as bad? It isn't so hard that it cannot be driven on UK roads. And yes it is actually the pinnacle of motoring for ITS CLASS. The BMW and the M series are consistently rated as the benchmark of handling and its rivals like Audi/Merc/Lexus has yet to produce a car that can match the M3s track ability.
Your ignorance truly shows if you are to completely dismiss a swap with the M30 -
Or that I've no interest in an M3. Or any other Bavarian model as whilst they are nice enough they are just so dull.
I've had a shot on a track and it's pretty fast, but it's no Caterham. but would I want one on a public road? No.
I don't see how not wanting to own an M3 is ignorant, it's just aspirational or of interest to me. I'd want to own a Jag XF, but I wouldn't want to join the ranks of 3-series drivers. And that's what the M3 is - a 3 series, like all the other middle managers have, it's just got a pointless engine, pointless bling, and unnecessarily hard suspension.
It's better than your Yaris, but that's not a hard bar to top.0 -

Your ignorance continues to astound me. Just because the BMW has a particular stereotype or social stigma attached to it, does it mean it should be dismissed no matter how great of a car is?
And you're confusing the 3 series to the M series. They are entirely different cars, from chassis, engine to suspension and are definitely not in the same price bracket. Your stupidity is bordering the insane; do I have to repeat that virtually no middle-managers drive the M3? 99% of them have the BMW 3 series diesel (320d).
Go drive a proper car before making uneducated statements.0
