What a strange question. Why on earth would the presence of a spider indicate lack of cleanliness, quite bizzare.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Not so bizzare, as a youngster {too many years ago for my liking} my old grandmother often said that her next door "friend" house was not clean and when I asked her why she said that her reply was " her home is running alive with spiders. OK back then we all had gas lighting and coal fires and Monday was wash day, Tuesday was step polish ect and as I stated it is not something that I would think but wondered what other peoples opinions were.
It take all sorts and I just thought it would be a fair question to ask and see what response came back0 -

I dont think spiders in a house means unclean. In my childhood it was flies flying around the lightbulb. I hate flies and so long as a spider is helping rid them, they are welcome.
I have seen far worse, cockroaches, bed bugs and silverfish infesting houses, house spiders are harmless really.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I think I must be one of these weird people that doesn't mind a few cobwebs, kind adds something a bit homely to a house, but then I am just a bit strange anyway!:oRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

Someone was on the TV the other night saying that research had been done into this and there is no evidence whatsoever that conkers repel spiders. It is an old wives' tale.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -
...but I'm an old ( well middle aged) wife! It must be true!!!

Oooh, conkers - one of my favourite things0 -
I let a few spidies live in the kitchen usually so the filthy house is purely coincidental and not their fault."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Don't any of you here have a phobia of spiders? all this talk of having loads in the house is worrying. I have a huge dread of them and hate this time of year.0
