Just added how much spent on food this month comes in just under 200.00 pounds mark what the hell was I thinking, Snow on way? There is only me okay have daughters pop in and grandson but cross with myself. Freezer is pretty full so ready for November.

Thanks applemuncher again and see all you guys on the November challenge.

  • Last check in for month, SFD yesterday so hit target, but did "big" food shop this morning then afternoon out with DS1 and friends while DH took DS2 to football tournament- spent on food & drinks and I paid the parking as we got a lift from friends. Will all come out of Nov budget as payday was on Tuesday, need to calculate budgets and cough to how much already spent on the November challenge. Thanks again Applemuncher, has been great, though admit I am glad to be peeling off the Lycra now.....lol x

Phew... talk about cutting it fine. SFD number 16!!!!!!
    :j

Work has been a complete nightmare the past two days. Hopefully monday will be better. In the meantime, just going to enjoy my weekend.
    :)

Better figure out how to swim with all these water-based challenges on the go. Can't be slowing all the rest of the turtles down.

  • Final SFD of the month, brings me to 19 :D:D

Groceries... £197.34 out of £130 :( and a lot of that was junk at my mums. :(

Christmas came to £270.34 and with only 3 presents to go I may be able to come in under budget!

Misc spends... which I expected to be high, took up £596.97 *faints* - Oh I have a lot of making up to do...

See you in November guys. I am actually starting to count down the days to New Year!

    Fresh start.. :) xx

Well I completely lost it in October although think I must be within budgets as money still in various banks and pots even after payday on 28th.

Decided to run my budgets from the first day of the month to the last day from November onwards as this will be my last month in paid employment. Redundancy in 3 weeks time.

Will post my budgets etc for Nov tomorrow on the Nov thread.

    See you all there

Spendy day, bust all the budgets £13 on a weekly bus ticket (should portion it out really, but too many lists and things to keep track of already), £2 on six yoghurts (since we are going to be in this house till Tuesday evening/ Wednesday morning and got off the bus a stop early tonight and bought pudding, chips and gravy, £2.80. Bought more stuff this morning, can't remember how much it was.

Running the freezer down is ongoing, but mainly frozen veg left now. Eaten the last pot of soup and the last raw carrot, let DS1 take the 3 tubs of 'cookie dough' (DS3 doesn't seem to have noticed), only a few onions and 2 apples left. May buy one of those mini roasts to use up more veg.

DS3 is broke - his patron's house burnt down, so DS3 is back to wanting to get his next game out in 3 weeks as he won't ask for money until the patron is back on his feet. Not pleased that he will have to trot back and forth to use the internet (I have got him continuous service). Also complaining about his back.

Strange day today. Set alarm for 8am to meet the boiler man at the old house at 9.30am. Just brushed my teeth and he phoned, already at the house, decided to get an early start as his son is going into hospital. He apologised when I reminded him of the agreed time, but I threw on my clothes, grabbed my things and jumped on the first bus.

Then stopped to breathe. Had two bags and both were a little too heavy (library books, cs and food bank donations). Unloaded then went to buy sandwiches and cheap decaff coke as boiler man had turned off the water. Ate, took all my morning pills and rested for a while, then took all the parcels (2 trips) before squirting cleaning stuff in various locations (left it to soak) and then had a go at cutting back the 'jungle'. Stopped after 3 rubble sacks full.

When the boiler man had finished (lovely hot water and central heating all in working order), wiped a few more things, gathered more rubbish, chopped another 3 sacks of garden waste and ate again before coming home (although old house is more of a home or will be soon). Dozed for a while and have gone back again.

Took a long handled brush (DS2 doesn't seem to have one with bristles and too much to do bending with a tiny brush) and the tree saw to tackle the briar I had been chopping back earlier.

DS2 and friend arrived - the bed base and sofa bed had gone when I got there. They took his angry bird gonks, the weights (number of times I have hurt myself with those things) and were supposed to be coming back later. He is supposed to be leaving me some money (so I can pay it into the PO tomorrow), amount unspecified. I have also asked for key to this house,so it can be passed onto the Estate Agent and for him to bring all his things into the front room so that I could clean all the upstairs.

Finally got back home. Due to computer problems had to do a reset the other day. When I turned on I couldn't get on bookface or here and finally couldn't access my e-mail. Bludgeoned the e-mail into accepting that I did know my own password, called in DS3 as I was struggling (wasn't me, it kept sending him in circles too) then just as nearly back here the display driver stopped working (said it had recovered but it hadn't).

So strange day. But tomorrow is a new day and a new month and my life is going to get better from here on. it has to, it really does.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
