  • apple - I have a friend who has 'Frozen' stickers... I think they are 30p a sheet? Google 'Sopharoos' on the book of face. Her name is Jo, and she is a delight.. I think she works from a website now but the details are on there. She made me a handmade Marvel cushion from Jelly to her daddy. Also don't forget home bargains for bags/chocolate moulds etc.

    How amazing to have Elsa!!

I am having a reasonable day. DS1 and I have dispatched most of the remaining diy jobs to be done here. DS3 is not yet back from t'other side o't Pennines (just as well because I still need to do things in his room).

Have hired a van for Tuesday/ Wednesday (4.30pm pick up and drop off) which I hope will suit my brother and DS3 who are both nocturnal. DS1 injured his back and had two days off work so now has to work on Saturday. He will come after work on Tuesday and help load the van, then return on Wednesday. Also useful for dropping off in the town centre, as we should not have to contend with traffic wardens.

Finally spoke to DS2. He and his friend moved some things last Sunday, will do more tomorrow and was pleased that he might still be able to get the last few bits on Saturday (have told him to take down curtains and lampshades - I can wash the curtains but don't want to go up steps).

Arranged for phone and broadband to be switched from here to the old house. Fairly simple except they wanted me to pay year's line rental up front. Always do this as it saves money, but had to set up new 12 month contract from today (will get credit for remainder of old line rental - shouldn't have been due until February). Had to go back a step to ensure service is continuous - DS3 will be able to come back here to use internet until switchover day. However I will probably be offline from the 7th to the 17th - could do 1/2 hour a day in the library.

Waiting till brother might be awake - please let him be okay with new arrangement. Another long list ready for tomorrow - new boiler being installed at old house. have library books, cs and food bank donations plus pile of rags and going to buy weekly ticket so can continue through the weekend.

Love the new thread - I hope to be your cheerleader.

Thanks traveller. I only work 30hrs a week my hours were supposed to increase this year but it hasn't happened. £500 a lot to find a month well done you. I am trying just 250-300 a month, leaves me little free cash at all. Will look at ways to increase my income next few months. Haven't had lodgers for about 6months which has made me move my DFD. My choice just wanted my own space after truly horrid year.

Thanks Applemuncher will check out Fmess thread.

Feel shattered and flat at the moment. Oh but 2 days time off on a boat x

One more day, then we're back in the water! Or rather, on top of it. Well done soa - it's brilliant. I'm an awful sailor, so although I'm fine with the idea of battening down the hatches, the thought of needing to be on a boat to do it sends me queasy!!

I felt the need to do a more detailed budget than of late, and although the total is very similar to previous months, it's so good to have the separate details.

Am planning a final NSD tomorrow, to meet the target. It has already been decreed that we shall be spending on Sat, so can't start the month with a warm, smug feeling!

  • Spendy day yesterday, picked up carrots and bananas. Am hoping today and tomorrow as NSD, seems a nice way to round off one month and start another. Apple muncher, thank you so much for this month's challenge - I've really enjoyed it and it has definitely kept me on track!

    Hello,

signed up to November, paid my debt and my savings in and got my budgets ready. Today will be a spend day, but taken from the November budgets. Will need some fresh produce from LIDL. Will make a spooky dinner today with sausage mummies and ghost mash. Just printed some spooky place mats for the dinner table too.

Feeling all excited and ready to go and have a fabulously frugal November

    Happy halloween
