    Mornin

Just opened my peepers.. Just like you Speakingofart, yesterday was a spend day as I bought mostly work related snacks and stuff (maybe not as healthy as I would like!) from 3 stores. Took the bike to Arseda and Morries before returning home to empty the panniers and walk to Te$c grabbing a free latte en route :D I want to cycle and walk more since getting the new banger so I don't increase the mileage, wear and tear. Id like her to last a good few years more ;)

Today may be a spend day as I'm meeting a friend in town. I'm hoping to avoid spending if possible, we have JL vouchers for free tea and cake and I only intend window shopping for birthday ideas. May end up buying a panini or something.

Hope you have a good day folks

  • Payday today and have just spent last of my cash from last month on haircuts for DS1 & 2. Can't believe I had money left (if only £15) on the day I got paid! A first for me, helped by fact that DH put some petrol in my car, admittedly, but that only freed up £25 so am feeling teeny bit pleased with myself!

Not a SFD due to said haircuts and the fact that I need to drag offspring around a SM in half term to pick up some essentials - know that's gonna cost me.... Wasn't a SFD yesterday either as had run out of potatoes, ended up spending £11.23 in L!dl but it was a bit like Mother Hubbard's house here to be fair, had bread but because it's a seeded loaf my two won't eat it. So was over food budget but only by about a fiver - will update sig in a mo.

Just want to get enough in to tide me over til November, as want to bag last couple of SFD to reach target.

Sun is shining here, hope it's shining on all of you too!

Spend day as I bought spider webbing for DS costume. Gonna recycle an old towel and stuffing that I have in the house, so total outlay about a tenner and most things can be reused.

Realised I have 16 holidays left till christmas and my boss said take them or loose them so I will take every Monday from now till christmas and my last day is the 19th of Dec. Looking fwd to have time once a week again for a deep clean, garden tidy up, batch cooking etc. which I don't quite manage around the two kids yet. Might even start going for a run again. Also decided to get a big online delivery from Tesco on Monday (mainly tins, nappies, looroll etc that I don't get much cheaper elsewhere, should last the month) and will get the fresh stuff cheaper from LIDL.

Quick check in - laptop repeatedly cutting out and cant order replacement battery/ cable until either DS3 or DS1 turns up. Considering getting a quote from one of the 'buy your house firms'. Know it's not the best idea but could afford to take a small loss on one or other of the houses to pay off all debts and have money in the bank to pay bills and get out as cash. At the moment I am only one week ahead of the direct debits and worried about going into hospital and recovery period, if I can't monitor outgoings constantly.

Have to go and borrow more cash off mum as DS3 has not returned from gf's - did ask him for £20 last week, but didn't register with him (or ordering my cable and battery).

    Have a good day turtles.

    Hi all...

Thank you all so much for your congratulations. I don't think it has really hit me, and I haven't noticed the spare cash as it's all gone on a rental deposit lol... I think come New Year when I'm a bit more settled - it will become noticeable then. Great to see you too Kat - and thank you :D

Keep up the good work folks!!! No matter how far along your own personal journeys you are... there IS an end in sight... I remember a time mine seemed like a long way away - and yet here I am. Stay focused... stay determined... remind yourself that all your hard work and sacrifice now will bring a brighter tomorrow...

    Hugs all xxx

  • May I please ask who is doing Novembers challenge or if it's not actually up yet ..?
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".

It's not up yet, I think. Mothernerd did allocate the next few months to volunteers, but I can't remember who had November.

We did Londinium today - poppies, Great Fire of London Monument and Trafalgar Square. Along with the rest of the world! I had to carry dd through the throng round the Tower (didn't go inside, this was just the roadway around it) as she said she felt trapped, and kept getting knocked by bags and bumped by people. She's officially a heffalump!

However, the poppies were awesome, even seen through the holes in the bridge!

In true mse style, I took our lunches and drinks, and came in under budget for the day. Used the railcard for a 1 day travelcard - wasn't aware I could do this until I was researching train prices online. And it saved us about £7.60 - result. :j

The battery for the car arrived before we left the house, so dh checked it and put it on to charge, to ensure the dratted thing would work. And now, at the moment, we have a functioning car! Tomorrow will be the acid test, when the battery's been in overnight... The cost of a new battery is soooo much better than the cost of a full diagnostics at a VW place! Twould be a tad more than the £7.60 saved above...

Am looking forward to November's challenge. What'll we do if there isn't one?? Panic???

3 more October Triathlon days to go! We shall all be winners on Friday at 23.59, and collect our medals to wear with pride. :T
