Day 2 of cold turkey. Feeling ok. Don't work Thursday so I'll be stopping in all day. Done a list of things I need to do but I'm feeling quite lazy today I just want to hibernate as it's cold outside.

Thanks JayJay21 for the link - read a bit of it. Read some more later.

Bonfire Bride - I love your positivity. It's making me all warm and positive. The money I save is going towards the credit card. Hopefully I can also cut down on my spending so I can throw it at the credit card. Hopefully debt busting and money saving will be my new addiction.

Well done Flutterby83, can't be easy for you with your partner smoking. I bet you they're feeling a little bit guilty with you trying so hard.

Must get some jobs done. Hope everyone has a good day and I shall catch up with you all laters!

Well done everyone, the first day is the worst and you will start to find the gaps between thinking about smoking will gradually get longer and before you know it several hours will pass and you wont have even had a thought about smoking. :T
Oh...and hiding my yucky breath after I've smoked...no need to do that now !

That is such a great feeling, knowing that you no longer smell like an ashtray.

  • Morning everyone, good to see most of you are still on track! For those that have had a slip, remember it's not the end of the world :)

So as we're 48 hours smoke free now, this is what the NHS say is happening to your body...

Carbon monoxide will be eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris. There is no nicotine in the body. Ability to taste and smell is greatly improved.

So did your toast and tea taste better this morning? :) Are you noticing any other changes?

Hope everyone is coping well today. It seems to be getting slightly easier. I decided to use patches after all. Started on Nicotinell Step 2, don't know how I would have coped without them so far.

Also had a go on my e-cig last night... but it didn't really do much for me. So think i'll save it for craving emergencies!

The cravings haven't been as often as yesterday but when I have had cravings - they are strong. I came across an old packet at the bottom of my hand bag and I was hoping there was one cigarette in it. it was empty.

Had this morning on in the back ground and I think his name was Dr Steele who was showing healthy pigs lungs and pigs lungs that look like they are smokers lung. I thought my poor lungs. He also went through all the nicotine replacements. He said it'll take a year before he would say you had knock the habit.

Feeling a bit dizzy today. My lungs feel tight and I'm unable to relax even though I said I felt lazy this morning and wanted to hibernate. Been busy doing chores that weren't on my list and not doing the chores that were on my list. Think I'm demented! :D

I hope everyone is doing well. Any withdrawal symptoms?

  • I think I may have completely lost the plot today! I've found today harder than yesterday, so decided cleaning the house would be a good idea to get rid of any nasty smoky smell lurking, I got as far as gutting my bathroom (I figured I'd start at the top and work down!) it's not huge but took me 2 hours to completely gut.....I then carried on and ended up wiping down all the walls and door on the landing which now need repainting as the 'washable' paint isn't actually washable and came away from the walls!! I also hung my sons bedroom door (he's only been waiting 18 months for my other half to do it!) so he's impressed. I'm not in a very good mood but at least I'm reaching for the fags :)

Flutterby83 - stay strong and stay focus.

When hubby came home from work he commented how clean and tidy the house looked.

Update signature now. 2 days done.

    Brilliant!!! :T

If you still feel the need to clean after your house is finished...come and start mine! :D I'm still waiting for the urge to clean to hit me.

I've had a really tough day...have thought about a ciggy so many times...but really proud that I have lasted another 24 hours without one. Was even offered one and said no thank you...

Woodster..I'm approaching Day 4 and my chest is feeling yucky and loose..

I will say though...my skin is really suffering. Spots  My colleague told me it was my skin cleaning out the toxins...that made me feel somewhat happy to have them (if only for a second)

Keep Going!!! (I thought this thread would be busier too :()
