miffy the quilt is beautiful :)
csarina gosh that sounds awful, so glad OH was there to 'rescue' you. I've never used a GO cutter I must look online - are they like Sizzix? I've glanced at them at shows but assumed they're for paper - clearly not! Hope you enjoy using yours :)

Had a splendid day at K&S show yesterday, stuck almost to my list - well jelly rolls were £22 each or £40 for 2 so it would be rude not to wouldn't it! Also got a new larger cutting board & ruler which was fun on the bus and train going home, and some 505 spray, and curved pins. Couldn't find a book I wanted but DD says she'll get it for me for Xmas so that's a result :)
I love looking at the exhibitions too, especially the new graduates :)

Of course I wanted to get straight on with my new toys today but because it's been dry I was a really good girl and cut back loads of stuff in the garden and took it all to the tip sorry, recycling centre. Hopefully I'll get onto it tomorrow :)
    Enjoy your Sunday evening :)

rosyq you definitely couldn't leave them there at that price, a real bargain. Took the dog to the woods and then cut out some strips for my next quilt. Ready to start putting the blocks together now. It is a fairly easy pattern so hopefully will grow quickly. Hope you get time to play with your new toys rosyq
    Happy Quilting all :j

Started to put my blocks together last night but had to stop for Downton. Have a Quilting group tonight so should have 3 hours of uninterrupted sewing:j. Can't do any this afternoon as I have to go with my DD to a Dermatology appointment.

  • Finally got the FMQ part done on the baby quilt .... did I mention I will be glad to see the back of that one??? :)

Just need to tidy up the threads and bind it so that one will be finished at the weekend. I have a busy week with work and family so if I manage to fit in a couple of hours over the week it will be a bonus!

Deleted_User, I will be watching with interest how you get on with the GO cutter. I have just moved from scissors to a rotary cutter as my hands are starting to grumble. They didn't much appreciate the FMQ but its done now. Its never good when our own bodies refuse to do as their told! I am still to find the address to write to the management to complain about this!

Lovely quilt Miffy, I am in awe you can turn that out in an evening! go you!

Be good to yourselves everyone. :)

Thanks patches41048 for admiring my quilt, it did take a bit longer than an evening . The straight line quilting was done in the evening but the piecing was done over a few days. Glad you got your FMQ finished and hope your hands are less painful now .I'm off to a Quilting group tonight so will have 3 hours sewing on my next quilt. Looking forward to that :j
    Happy Quilting all :)

Not a lot to report here. I'm slowly FMQing the celtic quilt but apart from that have done nothing. Iwant to get the binding on it by the weekend so that I can take it away to hand sew it.

    Hi everyone,

Not much to show here, but I am plodding away with my lap quilt, had a tidy up and a count of everything yesterday so I know how much more cutting I need to do. I'm pretty happy with it at the moment.
  • I started to machine quilt another wall hanging yesterday, checked the back, OMG I forgot to change the bobbin thread, it looked like snail trails on the back, having to unpick it...gggrrrrr.......white does not look good on scarlet.

Oh poor you Deleted_User. Glad you are plodding on aleceiffel andsnoozer. Have just spent an hour or so sewing some more blocks for my niece's quilt. Off to stitch club tonight so will take my hexagons with me as it's more of hand sewing / knitting club.
    Happy Quilting all :)

Got DS quilt basted last night :T
Used pins and the basting gun - I'll try the spray out on something small first before I commit to it on a large project :)
Now I can get on with quilting - diagonal straight lines - off to look for a tutorial :rotfl:
