So good that we are all helping each other with advice. rosyq enjoy the Kand S show I'm looking forward to going to The quilt Show in Malvern at the end of October. Trouble is I do spend too much money:eek:
Haven't done any more sewing as I was out for tea with friends this afternoon, must stop all this socialising!
Happy Quilting all:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

My house is a tip, too much socialising this week. Have to do some tidying up before I can get on with my challenge piece.

Don't stop the socialising Miffy! the quilting will be there when you get back
Sat last night and unpicked all the wonky fmq I did previously, it was a bit disheartening but looking forward to trying to do it right this weekend!
I'm just looking at pure silk thread and cotton batting on fleabay for the cushion. I did have a bit of cotton batting left but it was an offcut and too small. I daren't go shopping or will spend a fortune and need so save some pennies for the twisted stitch show in Harrogate next month. Now that could be expensive!!!0 -
What size piece do you need patches. If you pm me the size and your address I'm sure I will have a suitable off-cut to send you.0

Finished quilting my challenge quilt last night, now have to do the binding. Hope you all find some time over the weekend to do some sewing.

Snoozer, thanks for the offer. I wish I had seen it before I placed the order. I have a metre on the way which should be enough with a bit to spare.
Have spent a few hours today and the baby quilt is coming on. The FMQ is better but I couldn't for the life of me work out what I have done different but the tension seems ok now????
No complaints from me though.
The weather here is Yorkshire is foul! no better reason to stay in and sew ... and make Christmas cakes!0 -

Hi all, have finished my challenge quilt today and the link is above. It is a small quilt on the theme Hearts and Flowers. Not my usual colours but I think it's ok. Did my usual straight line quilting but on an angle . Hope you are enjoying the weekend, weather is not too bad here.

I have been having a few problems using my rotary cutter recently, yesterday my hand 'locked' on it and I could not let go, eventually had to call oh to undo my fingers, it was locked open and I dare not try to pull it out with my left hand.
I had been looking at the GO cutters some time ago and decided that I could not justify the price, however OH told me yesterday to get one and be damned how much it cost. I had watched several of Eleanor Burns Webinars, she uses a Baby Go for the same reason, her grip is not as strong as it was. I decided on the bigger one, there is more versatility with the dies and I think I will get more use ot of it.

There is quite a bit on the internet about it, lots to watch and drool over. There is even one I found last night of a chap cutting up his scraps for a scrap quilt.0 -
Deleted_User that must have been scary for you thank goodness your OH was in the house. If that machine extends your quilting days then you should not feel guilty. We all need our hobbies to keep us going into our golden years. Our quilting group has invested in something similar so no doubt I will be taking full advantage of it.
Hope it gets to you soon so you can have some fun playing with it.
I have to cut lots of one and a half inch strips today so that should be fun.

Csarina, that must have been scary for you. I have sliced my finger a couple of times with the rotary cutter, luckily not very badly but it's made me much more careful.
Let us know how you get on with the GO, I must admit it looks tempting.0
