I did reply to your earlier post but you may not have seen it.

    Re-read post #85.

Although it is true a chargeback may not work, it is certainly worth a try.
  • I've been conned, & am seeking redress via Chargeback.
Meantime, I still need an EPC. Any ideas how I can find a pukka person, please?

Hi, Just google search for a local guy, and not one of these that offer a national service. I googled for one in our area and found a guy that lived 10 mins away, he came round the next day. paid him after he did the survey, and the following day I had my certificate .. thats the sort of 1-3 day service I expected from firstchoice that they advertise and dont provide.

Lablad, can you drop me a message at firstchoiceepcscam@gmail.com would like to hear your experience of them.

    Cheers
  • firstchoiceepc keep well away they have taken my money
and done nothing for it , they dont show up at your home
they dont respond to email there is no phone number
the only option i have left is to take them to small claims court my last message to them is below

why is there no responce from your company ?
i am going to bolton town on thursday to the small claims court
you will need to pay back my money and the court cost

WARNING DO NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO THIS COMPANY
(ALSO IT IS PART OF EPCLOCAL - KEEP AWAY )

  • It seems first choice epc have stopped marketing firstchoiceepc.com and now have a new scam website, saviepc.co.uk. Exactly the same layout but with a different header. Interesting that they have decided to include a telephone number on their new scam site.

Where is the best place to report this scam to? Does anyone have a link to go to?

Have you had a roblem with them ?..

google action fraud police, and also consumer advice (run by the citizens advice) they will forward your complaint onto trading standards

A little bit of light reading for you all

firstchoiceepc currently appear to have no directors, and since Mr Peplar resigned on December 23rd 2014 this is non compliance with the regulations needed for a company to be able to trade. In otherwords, they have been trading illegally with no company directors since December 19th acording to http://www.endole.co.uk/company/09263969/first-choice-epc-limited . Unless somebody can put me right of course.
  • I'm having very similar problems with this 'company', booked an EPC with them, they took the money immediately (contrary to their website at the time) and provided me with a booking reference and that's about it! Despite trying several messages via their website (and using their email address as well) I heard nothing from them, so after 28 days passed I asked for my money back as they hadn't done anything. Heard nothing further a couple of weeks later so successfully retrieved my money back via my bank. Subsequently bombarded with what seem to be automated emails suggesting I cancelled and owe them a cancellation fee which has now escalated and reached the standard £435ish and threat of county court action. I responded to a few of their messages but they just ignore it with no explanation for their actions. No names, addresses or contact numbers are supplied, all signed off with 'not much love from' FirstChoiceEPC. My card provider now advise me that the merchants bank have stated that the fee that was charged back is a cancellation fee and therefore they intend to re-debit my account. Now it's not just these rogue traders I am fighting!
Needless to say I reported my case to Action Fraud some time ago who have passed to local Police for further investigation. I would suggest anyone in a similar predicament does the same. I do not intend to pay a single penny to this company unless they somehow manage to actually get a judge to order me to do so. Disappointing but not surprising to see they continue this scam with a new 'company'.
