    Must be your area...

    Yes use http://www.call18866.co.uk/

If anyone could confirm that my thoughts on the deal with AOL is suitable/not suitable please let me know what you think...
  • Does anyone know if you can overide the AOL Pay as you talk package that comes with the Laptop so I could still use the free evening and weekend package with BT?Still not sure what do as AOL have offered me £9.99 per month package with unlimited downloads and free evening and weekend calls and only an 18 month contract but at the moment this mould be the only way I could get a laptop. Not sure of the spec and how to buy a similar one from Del for cash as other posters seem to say that one can be purchased for aprox £350.00 where are this way would work out as £240.00. Any advice apreciated. My head is hurting now trying to work out the best option!!

yeh its the area you live in, something to do with LLU i think. If you live in the hills in wales your screwed but in the city your sorted!
  • HiThanks, Yeh I do live in the city. When I phoned AOL thay told me I was connected through STANLEY for my broadband and even though it was up to 8mb I could receive 5.5mb (speed).Do I have to use a code etc to overide the AOL package and just use BT and pay for my calls through BT?Thanks

We as far as i understand if you sign up to it for example the PAYG one, which i am, all my calls will now run thru AOL and not BT so i'll just pay the BT line rental. i duno how expensive AOL calls chargers r tho! I'm ok cos i dont use my BT line for calls being a student and having free minutes but i obvisouly have to pay the line rental to get the broadband. I actually had a recorded msg call from AOL today saying my calls will be thru them but i av 2 pay for BT line rental. It doesnt clearly say on aol this is the case but unfortunately it is!!

only just understood what u said spiderman..very good question can you override onto BT...i hope so! does any1 else know?
  • My calls and BT line rental are curently with The Post Office.

Will I still pay P/Office for line rental or will it either revert back to BT or transfer to AOL?
  • Hi Liam191THanks for your reply. I was just trying to work out the best option as BT are doing free evenings and weekend calls free for one year and as I will have to use them for AOL anyway I was wondering if I could still use my free calls and AOL for other calls.http://aoltalk.aol.co.uk/aoltalk/pay-as-you-go/article/20050905101509990002?n=navbar&p=aoltalk&c=aoltalkThis is the link to the Pay as you go call charges with AOL.
  • those prices seem reasonable but only if you spend ages on the phone...no good if you make lots of short calls? saying that i dont know cos i use my mobile and never the land line!
