Free Laptop with AOL now! (merged)

Just got an e-mail re the free laptop. It seems that because I live in the sticks, I have to take out broadband and talk pay/go at a cost of £29.99pm. This does not seem to have any free calls. Thats an expensive extra. If I choose not to take a talk product, then the cost is £39.99 . Plus BT rental.
Guess I`ll be staying with Orange as I`ve never had any problems and use 18866 for my phone calls.

Just had the email aswell and says that I too have to pay £29.99. At the moment, I get the Gold 2Mb Broadband service for £19.99, so it's a bit silly having to pay £29.99 p/m just for a laptop. Haven't been happy with AOL, so will consider moving to Virgin.

I had an email about this aswell but the highest they suggested paying (and I don't have to) is £22.49 for their talk package and broadband.

The cheapest they've offered me is 29.99 I don't think so!! I don't even live in the sticks, and the broadband exchange (or whatever it is) is 5 mins down the road!

£29.99 for me also. i am with aol now and live in the sticks i do not have to pay more then anyone in the city at the present so why for this offer. I think they are trying to pull a fast one.

I too had an e-mail from AOL/Carphone Warehouse offering me the 'free laptop' for £29.99 due to restrictions in my area, they must think I am puddled, I have two major city on either side of my town (not rural) within 25 miles, I am currently with Pipex for internetand pay £9.99 a month, and have never had a problem with Pipex, and I am with the Post Office for my calls, as I receive free evening and weekend calls for free YES FREE (I only pay line rental) so I am staying put and Carphone Warehouse/Aol can offer the 'free laptop' to some other mug.

£29.99 a month, plus line rental who are they kidding?
