Any company paying staff to sit around waiting to answer phone calls with in 3 rings is surely going to cost a fortune?
I was just rewriting the criteria set out my another poster. Personally as long as I am not on a premium number and told what number in the queue that I am then I dont mind so much waiting a few mins!0 -
I Went To Local Currys Branch 2 Weeks Ago To Sign Up For The 19.99 Per Month Free Laptop Offer, On Paper It Looks Good Value Etc Compaired To My Existing Tiscali Package. I Took In My Mac Code And Within 20 Mins On Phone To Orange I Walked From Shop Feeling Fairly Happy, I Chose The Advent 399.00 Laptop Which Had Decent Spec For A Fee Of 50.00. I Was Promised That I Would Recieve Modem Etc And Letter From Orange In 10 Days Time And Be Able To Pick Up Laptop Then. Ihaving Heard Nothing At All I Rang First Currys Who Put Me In Contact With Orange Helpline, After 25 Minutes Of Them Denying I Existed They Eventually Found Me In There System And Gave Me Another Not So Helpline To Ring. After 20 Mins Of Speaking To Half The Population Of Bombay I Was Told That My Mac Code Was Wrong, Which It Wasnt And I Would Have To Go Back To My Local Currys And Start The Process All Over Again. At This Point I Thanked The Gentleman Politely!!!!!!!! And Have Registerd An Interest In The Aol Laptop Offer. I Think I Have Had A Narrow Escape From Orange.0

i will never understand what people have got against aol. they make it sound like e7even! aol's not bad. it has it's moments but they get sorted. there are loads of us that use aol and are quite happy with it. don't listen to the doomsayers - just be realistic. grrrrr! My signature has been removed by the authorities. Is this thread not becoming a debate over the "value" of AOL? If we know what the offer is and there is nothing getting added to the details then surely this thread should be moved !!A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

You have to remember that Carphone Warehouse only brought AOL in October last year, so it's much better to judge AOL's on Talk Talk rather than AOL's past performance.0 -

why do it that way round? and apart from anything else, aol and talktalk seem to be being run as separate companies at the mo.My signature has been removed by the authorities. RUBBISH in 1 word.
who needs their software to access the internet, no one.
i am a pc engineer & come across many problems with aol.
pc's run so much better with less issues with the minimum amount of software.
first rule, if you don't really need it, don't install it.0 -
just now come from someone who has their FREE laptop.
had problem setting it up......the help line costs to use it!
laptop would not load vista, boot error & asks for vista disc.
and yes you don't get the disc.
so hes taking it back to pc world.
(sorry for using the swear word (pc world) woops! done it again)0 -

completely agree. the software's useless. always has been. just don't use it. there were work arounds for dial up and as far as broadband is concerned, it is completely unnecessary. i'm more interested in the connection though - mine works fine. always has. dialup was also good with them.My signature has been removed by the authorities.
