Its shocking exactly how desperate companys like AOL the big guns really are for our business. I am going to do the orange one i think because , please quote me if im wrong, but dont they either give you £400 laptop or £400 off a laptop. I wont have much use for a standard pc, so will need one with vista premium and much more ram.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30

Remember a good ISP doesn't need to " give " anything away to attract business.
Nor to they need to stitch people in to long contracts.0 -

I disagree, they are just using it as a form of differentiation. Companies can use anything to do this from price (low or high), to free gifts to higher or lower speeds. Its all about what you are looking for. If you want the cheapest deal cable or something like TalkTalk work out very good value. However, if you fancy a laptop now but without having to pay for it all at once, then the Aol offer could be quite good for you.0 -
in America this is a normal practice to get you to sign up for broadband. now its in the UK just enjoy it.
remember when u took on a mobile phone contact and then had to pay for the phone in full as well. no free phones were used to be given out look what u get now days free phone and a TV with the link or a phone and also a PlayStation 3/will/xbox 360. or free phone cash back on line rental. this idea came from America so now AOL/orange are doing it here. but a word of caution thought anyone remember the deal from redtern last year?
free PC when u subscribe to their broadband. now they have gone bust when watford electronics went bankrupt and the people are still paying for the PC.:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol
