That is the heading of the article, but if you read the article Carphone Warehouse bought AOL UK. TalkTalk is just a CPW brand...0 -
my friends has talk talk i have aol, and the welcome/homepage looks remarkably similaur.
I have my suspicions that aol/talk talk share the same network, i cant see it making sense a company operating two internet companies so probably one will disapear in the future?0 -

Yep 1 will disappear over time. In the mean time people like you and me on AOL will pay more!... :rolleyes:0 -
i had terrible problems when i was with aol (contract ended january). i found the aol software to be extremely tempremental, constantly crashing. also their billing department messed my direct debit up so many times, i ended up going 6 months without paying and then obviously owing 6 months to them!
I have been with AOl for many years too, and suffered the same problem as yourself with regards the software crashing. In the end I decided that the problem was with the AOL software and not the broadband connection. So I uninstalled all the AOL software and just used internet explorer for my browsing. This was only possible once I had gone wireless but it works brilliantly.
Just to let people know you do not need to use the software provided by your ISP to access the internet. I use dthe CD AOl provided to do the initial set up of the router, then uninstalled the AOL software. the router settings were kept intact, so when my computet is connected tothe router it is on the internet and IE or whatever browser you want to use will work. I can still check my AOL email using https://www.aol.co.uk. I will say do not unistall the software if you think you might need it again and make sure you keep the installation disk for setting up your router againif you need to.
in short the software shouldn't be a deciding factor when choosing broadband. I get the AOl speeds, which at the moment I get faster downloads than people know with BT with a supposedly faste broadband connection0 -
i was on aol for 5 years up until jan of this year, had few probs with connections, but the software was annoying. had a nightmare few months with BT, so ended up rejoining aol again a few weeks ago. if i'd known about the free laptop, i would have waited till septemember LOL!!Vegetarian's Do Not!!!! eat fish
