Would you mind PM me the link that passion flower sent you re the bed. Sorry to trouble you only at the moment you seem to be the only person on line from this thread! Thank you
  • If anyone is still following this thread that has passion flower's link to the bed that has been mentioned in the above posts please could you post it on this thread (I think someone said it is ok to post the link as long as you are not profiting from it) or PM it to me. I have posted a couple of message requests above but it may not have been seen by the original posters. I would be really grateful if anyone has it, Thank you :)
  • Pinkypants from reading this thread you do seem to be the expert on mattresses. I am trying to buy a new one for my daughter, she is approx 10st & from reading thread I am really interested in getting her the Restus Crystal 3000. She wants a medium support & not firm I think for her weight. Please can you advise on whether you think this mattress would be right for her, from reading thread I am trying to understand the number of springs & although it seems that the higher number the firmer but am I right in understanding the 3000 is split 1500 over 2 layers so this would be ok for her. Also she wants a standard double, is this a very heavy mattress? I think this is the mattress that passion flower has posted about & I am trying to get the link to where she bought hers from but since I discovered this really useful thread I do not think she has been on the site. Any help on best place to buy gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance

Spring count has NO factor on firmness, you can get 1000 spring matts that are rock hard, likewise you can get 1000 spring matts that are very gentle.

    It's just a number.

I'm just under 9st and I find it medium to medium/firm.

It is quite heavy, but then again decent mattresses normally are, as it means that there is lots of stuff inside them.

Going rate should be about £450 ish for a double and £519 for a King.

Passionflower really has found a website selling it cheap.

    Hope that helps.

I would also appreciate someone either posting the link here or PMing it to me. I've found the bed on eBay for £379.99 (king size), but the feedback for the seller is less than encouraging.

    Thanks!
  • Hello, I discovered this thread early on and went and bought the Crystal shortly after Passionflower, so just logged in to give my feedback. This thread has really taken off, no surprise!! I definitely confirm that it's a superb mattress so massive thanks Pinkypants! What a pleasure for once to use the interweb in such a way! I was trying mattresses at shops wasting precious time and here I found it for such a great price!

I ordered it with the 2 man delivery but was very unhappy with the courier, but that's a matter of bad luck and not the company's fault I guess. I live in London.

As far as the firmness goes, I work long hours on the computer and have been struggling with my back and was desperate for the right mattress. From all the mattresses I had recently tried (including vi-spring & coco-mat that are wonderful) I was keen of getting something a bit on the softer side but my partner was more keen of getting something firmer. This is great for both of us but personally I wouldn't go any firmer. It feels great and I have no complains but if you know you want it a bit softer it sounds like the solitaire is the one (the seller also sells that at a great price). Enjoy!!
  • The website wont let me post the link but if you search RESTUS BEDS CRYSTAL 3000 POCKET on ebay.co.uk it will come first on the list. :)

Thanks for sharing. So have people ordered the mattress from this seller (homefurnishingsuk) and had no issues with it? There's some concerning feedback on their account that implies they are a bit of a nightmare to deal with, and that their products are possibly factory rejects.

"nothing but problems 100s of phone calls no relies to emails, then it was damage"

"AVOID - beds are factory seconds and damaged - emails ignored !!"

"appalling customer service, no delivery in a week. Had to get reimbursed. Awful"

    ...etc.

They also have a lot of positive feedback too, so now I'm not sure what to do!
  • Thank you Pinkypants the mattress is to go on a gaslift bed so just want to be sure it will not be too heavy to lift up & down when I need to get to storage underneath! Am still very interested in this mattress especially as I did not have a clue about all this until I started to research mattresses, it is such a minefield to know what to get but the crystal 3000 has such good reviews I feel you cannot all be wrong! I desperately need passion flowers link just to compare before I put in an order but those posters that may have it do not seem to have been online since I discovered this thread! I am very glad that I found this thread it has been really useful!
I too, kwyjibo, have found it on e-bay. Not sure if it is the same supplier that you found but I agree that the feedback on the company was a bit worrying! I would rather pay a bit more for a perfect mattress that does at least turn up!!
Also Pinkypants a supplier called Happy Beds advertise it as Orthopaedic but I did not think that the crystal 3000 was actually Orth... unless they do an Orth... version. No-one else on this thread has referred to it as Orth..... We had been advised against getting an Orth... bed for her as it would be too firm & she does not need this! Do you have any advice on this?
Thank you again ..... & please anyone reading this thread if u do have PF's link please could you post or send it. Would be really grateful :)

    This one you mean?....http://www.happybeds.co.uk/signature-crystal-3000-orthopaedic-mattress-8844

It's not the same mattress that we're talking about.

Restus Crystal is the mattress you want...http://www.bishopsbeds.co.uk/shop_products/view/crystal-pocket-mattress note the little squares on the boarder of the mattress.

It should be fine on a gas lift Ottoman.
