I know you'd do anything rather than let anyone down:A but it's not as if you are just phoning in out of the blue to say you can't work. Your line manager and colleagues will already know you are ill and have been soldiering on despite everything. Maybe most people could shake off a bad cold quickly but your health issues (which your superiors must have known about before offering you the job) make your situation very different.
With your hospital appointments looming you need to make sure you get rid of this cold as soon as possible. You said yourself that it's likely to get worse and I can't see how struggling in to work will help anyone, most of all you. If you're anything like me, a tickly cough means a very disturbed night's sleep:eek: and tiredness doesn't help the recovery process.
Sending lots of virtual hugs your way:kisses3:
Thanks CBC :A
I might see how I go over the course of tomorrow and then see whether to go in on Thursday night or not. It's the weekend I'm dreading - all day coughing and blowing my sore nose whilst trying to deal with customers is not a thought I'm relishing.

Today has basically been full of coughing to the point of wanting to be sick. I can't go into work like this, so I'm going to see if I can get an appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning. At least I can then tell my boss that I'm doing something about it and the doctor can check that it's not a chest infection.
Haven't felt this poorly for ages

So sorry there's not been any improvement in how you're feeling.:(. Seeing your GP sounds like a very good idea. I hope they can find you an appointment slot tomorrow.
You must be feeling awful at the moment. Make sure that OH of yours looks after you. I'm thinking of you xxx0 -
Glad that you are going to get an appointment Emz.
Take carexx

My OH is away at the moment, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as I'm enjoying the peace and quiet

Such a bad night's sleep. Think I got around 3-4 hours on and off, but I've just thrown up all over the bedroom floor, so I'm admitting defeat!!
Off I go to the doctors later and definitely not going to work tonight!!

Hmm, doctor only gave me 5 days worth of stronger antibiotics, which isn't long enough. I need at least double that (which I told him, but he wasn't willing to give me any more). He said it sounded like there was something brewing in my lungs.
I'm going to get a second opinion from the hospital, but can't get through to them at the moment
