Bucket List Ambitions of a Cystic Fibrosis Sufferer

I've had a bit of a change in my life recently, namely going from being self-employed to getting a part-time job (as well as doing other things online to top up my income). Might not sound like much of an upheaval, but considering I have Cystic Fibrosis, I have found it a bit challenging.
On the subject of my illness, I have also decided to start a bucket list. I'm 33 years old and, although I'm not at death's door just yet, I figure I might not have that many good years left in me (but I will fight to keep healthy for as long as I can!!).
I did attempt a Day Zero list (101 goals in 1001 days), but I just felt there were a lot of things on there that I had just added to pad it out and get to the 101 figure. My bucket list is full of things that I really want to do and would love to get as many crossed off as I can before my health declines.
The majority of them cost money, and I know they may not seem like realistic goals, but where there's a will, there's a way. I have 25 things on there at the moment, but may add more as I think of them. Here it is:
I don't know how far I will get, but I will keep my progress updated on here. Here's to a successful bucket list challenge

Depends on the location. Rome, Venice, Ireland etc would be fine for 2-3 days. I think OH and I would combine some of the American ones together and do them over 2-3 weeks or something.
Well that sounds like a plan, but it will be exhausting. How does travel insurance affect you?The majority of them cost money, and I know they may not seem like realistic goals, but where there's a will, there's a way. I have 25 things on there at the moment, but may add more as I think of them. Here it is:Bucket List
1. Watch a match at the US Open
Try to combine this with other US stuff. I take it this is tennis like the other stuff and not golf...2. Watch a match at the French Open
3. Watch a match at the Australian Open
4. Watch a Davis Cup match involving Team GB
5. Watch a match at a Masters 1000 event
You like your tennis don't you?6. Go to San Diego Comic Con
Try to combine this with other US stuff. It's not far from San Fran for example.7. Go to a film festival
8. Attend a movie premiere
What kinds of movies?9. Learn to swim10. Finish my cross stitch picture11. Not owe a penny to anyone
12. Get an Apple MacBook
Ebay. They're quite cheap, even the McB Pros13. Go to Rome
14. Go to Ireland
15. Go to Venice
16. Go to Hawaii
See no 20.17. Go to Washington
This is close enough (though it's still a long way) to NYC to "do" the US open as well.18. Go to San Francisco
See No 20.19. Go to Las Vegas
Get married by Elvis?20. Go on a cruise
Well this (linky) knocks 3 off. Remember to pay by credit card (not neccesarily your own) for the protection.
You also get a trip to Mexico rolled in for free.21. Fly first class
Probably be best during a US domestic flight. Get more relief from cattle class.22. Stay in a 5 star hotel
23. Order room service
24. Take Ellie and Kian to Disney World
25. Get my teeth fixed

I hope this is of some help and gives ideas.

Great ideas there, Emz:T
I've subscribed to all your diaries over the years and this one has such a hopeful feel to it. it's made me think of making my own list (which will be much shorter as I'm much older than you:( and cheaper to attain as I'd never be able to find enough money to do all I'd like).
Absolutely with you on the tennis ones and pleased you have put them top of the list:j. I'll definitely be putting one of the Opens on my list but know I couldn't manage all 3. As a big Formula 1 fan my biggest sporting wish is to see the Monaco Grand Prix and stroll along the quayside drooling at the millionaire yachts:cool2:
Did you once mention hoping to stay at Cromlix? Maybe that's 5-star (I don't know) so that might tick 2 boxes, or 3 if you had room-service there:)
Good luck to you anyway, you are a truly inspiring lady with such an optimistic outlook:kisses3:0 -
What a fabulous list.
OH and I had a very good value trip to Venice on a Travelzoo offer with Fleetway Travel earlier this year. We stayed in the 5* Venice Hilton during the last weekend of the carnival and it was magical. We still can't believe how little we paid.
Fleetway Travel send me email offers for 5* hotels around the world so it may be worth signing up for their emails as well as Travelzoo as they may come up with offers for other places on your list too.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
