Bucket List Ambitions of a Cystic Fibrosis Sufferer

Sorry I was MIA over the past day or so. I went to work last night and must have turned or twisted funny as I got a sharp pain in my left lung. I managed to carry on working, but went to the hospital today just to get myself checked out. It still hurts quite badly, but my lung looks okay. I'm at work again tomorrow evening for 3 hours, so will see how that goes. I don't really want to call in sick in my second week there. Hopefully I'll be feeling better by Saturday.

Sorry to hear you're not well. It's bad enough being in pain when you can stay at home but even worse when you have to go out to work. I know you won't want to let M&S down but your long-term health comes first. Big hug coming your way. Can't find a smilie for it:(
Is your M&S job temporary until Christmas or more long-term? Can't remember if you told us:o0 -

I know that the majority of my list is going to take a lot of money to achieve or maybe quite a few competition wins. However, the one thing I can cross off that won't cost me a penny is finish my cross stitch picture (well, maybe a bit to get it framed).
A bit of background on this. I bought it when my niece was born with the intention of doing it for her, getting it framed and giving it to her so that she has something to remember me by when I'm no longer around (as morbid as that sounds, nobody lives forever). I also like the idea that she passes it down to her kids etc etc.
She turned 7 in May this year, so that is how long this picture has gone unfinished. It has become a running joke in my family that it will never get done. Hence the reason it's on my list - I would love to just walk in with it finished one day.
So here is what the picture will look like:
And here's how much I've done in just over 7 years:
I'm going to attempt to do an hour a day on it and see how much progress I have made this time next month.

Do you think it is possible that you have adjusted your posture to deal with CF and now need to take another look with having to stand for so long in a working day? Just a thought!0

Hi Patanne
That's a very good point. I am being referred to the physio for my bad posture (in CF terms), so I'll mention it the next time I'm at the hospital.

I survived work last night. My chest is still hurting a bit, but not as bad as it was. The real test will be working 7 hours tomorrow and 6 hours on Sunday. My staff discount card is also ready for collection - guess where the majority of my Christmas presents will be bought this year?!
On bucket list news, Team GB have drawn the USA at home in the Davis Cup in March, so I'm going to aim to get tickets for that (not sure where it will be held yet though).
Work has also recommenced on my cross stitch picture - I'm pleased to say the bear now has a hat!!
