Apologies for absence yesterday - I was feeling v poorly, and didn't feel up to looking at a puter screen. Tbh, I feel a tad guilty as I wasn't around to send healing for Devil Cat (I always do healing for sick critters if I can).

Anyways.... *fanfare* THE KITCHEN IS FINISHED!!:T
They worked well into the evening Wednesday to get it all done; as I mentioned I wasn't well yesterday (probably "reaction" from trying so hard to hold it together for the 3 days the workmen were here) but today we've been putting everything back in; unpacking boxes, working out what to put where (the cupboards are totally different to the old ones) and generally getting back to what passes for "normal" around here.

I need to go and do some dins now, so will love you and leave you for the time being.

Not however before wishing the Pigpen family a heap of calm and happy vibes; that doesn't sound adequate, but I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to say. I could literally cry reading what's gone on; having had an abusive father myself, I do so feel for those children. Special vibes too for young Moomin.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • glad your kitchens done LW, hope you start feeling better very soon now the stress of it all is over.

hugs to all that need them, have a good weekend all.

Healing vibes for Moomin's soul, Miss Moo's feverish ear and any divide in Scotland.

Devil Cat is home! He's sporting a rather fetching red bandage on a front leg where the drip was removed but he's not wild about it - he's a blue footie team supporter, so it isn't going down well. Fortunately because he was taken straight to the vet as soon as he scoffed the pill and sicked up half of it almost instantaneously they think he'll be absolutely fine; just rather shocked and upset by having a night in the animal hospital. OH is very, very happy.

Back to sewing. I might, just might, wash the kitchen floor today but I don't want to get too carried away.

Thank you Lamewolf! Your healing worked - he was discharged 24 hours earlier than originally expected. He's very subdued, but from what the ward vet nurse said (24 hour cover) he was frozen with fear for the entire time he was there and it was only that they saw cargo in the litter tray that alerted them to the fact that he'd moved at all. He wouldn't eat there, didn't talk to anyone (he talks to us non-stop) and won't stray from one particular blankie at home - he has several beds.

So glad your kitchen has been finished already. Good.

Wonderful news.. I've been battling for my chair, laptop, phone, knitting, hairbrush, body, etc all day so not had chance to read much in any depth.. I am certain our furbabies are more of a worry than our real live naughty babies! You know being a cat he won't have learned anything at all by his ordeal!!??

    Evening
Well I don't appear to have done an awful lot this week :o but I did get a few bits done this afternoon:

Planted a few more plug plants - front baskets done
WMx2 and hung on racks / radiators - v damp day here
    DW filled and set going
    Everyone fed
    General kitchen tidy
Steamed and scraped grotty ceramic hob

Downstairs floors still need seeing to - will do in morning and kiddies can play upstairs out of the way. Floordrobe has been ignored but need to be tackled this weekend - MIL will want her room back on Monday.

We are out with our WAY friends tomorrow aft, then FIL is taking DS swimming in the big pool on Sunday - he seems to have lost his confidence in moving from the small pool for his lessons. So hopefully a little practice will remind him he can stand up in the shallow end, and he can swim too. So far he's just saying "but I'm only little" aww.

Good to hear the kitchen is done LW hope you can relax a little now.
