Hope we shall see a photo of your hat when it's finished, mrs-mp - it sounds delightful!

Pigpen, strength vibes coming your way.
It will be afternoon by the time I've finished writing this, and the morning has just disappeared in a hazy mist. So far I have only managed to
- tidy the kitchen and finish washing up from last night
- deliver 2 cakes to church for today's community event
- sort out keys for Monday night's Old Wives party
- put clean washing away
- tidy downstairs
- find out a few clothes to pack, dusting my bedside table in the process
As I drove home from choir last night it began to rain, and I remembered that my washing was still out, so most of it ended up in the TD for 30 minutes
No ironing to do now, though
The charity trustees' meeting has been postponed for a week, and I am going to DS2's by train this afternoon. DH will come up tomorrow, but only if he is feeling 100% - he's a lot better this morning but not quite right yet, and my DS2 has enough ongoing problems of his own with his digestive system that we don't want to add to them.
If DH doesn't join me, I shall return home by train tomorrow evening, thereby gaining a day, so the pressure is off for now. In the remaining hour before lunch and final packing I hope to
- mop the kitchen floor
- write 2 more urgent emails
- write a card
- make a proper list of the resources that I still need to finish off
- download 2 books for my K1ndl€
Then sit on a train and r - e - l - a - x

Well for my first week back flying I have been very gentle to myself  I have decontaminated the bn thoroughly with hosepipe etc though as we had a bin bag slippage incident and a lot of off foraged blackberries that I didn't want to put n the compost. We have a hot compost bin so the bin is usually quite clean as all cooked food etc goes in the compost so this is quite a rare job for me! I have vacd and mopped stairs and downstairs and done dailies (kind of)
Need to tackle bathroom as a priority......
Just want to share a top tip re skirting board cleaning, I usually give them a swipe with the mop as I am going through, so long as the mop is not soaking wet and the water not too minging this acts as quite an effective wet-dustng0 -
mrs-moneypenny wrote: »pigpen were the police or social services involved when you escaped from him? if so could you get some kind of protection order for you and the children surely they cant be forced to visit etc if they will be in danger. maybe the word of the older ones if they could be brave enough would help protect the little ones from suffering the same (or worse) fate
no, just my mother who got here quicker and kicked his sorry @$$Sadly none of my neighbours are the same bar 1 older Polish guy who speaks no English.. he still says 'good afternoon' regardless of the time of day, I love it! otherwise they could give stories of him screaming and smashing things in the street and abusing students at all hours.
The older ones, DD1's out-laws and my mother and sister have all said they will speak against him. One of my sisters also knew his tramp when all her 'trouble' was ongoing.. she was 13/14 at the time so a credible source of info so she could regale those tales if necessary. DD1 has also spoken to the tramps daughter who isn't one for withholding the info.. I wonder if she told DD1 trying to protect my girls from her mother?.. There's a thought I hadn't thought before... what I she did!!??!!??
He and his tramp have rang SS several times over the last few months with absolute lies! .. saying I was not properly managing DS3's diabetes after KH almost killed him last time he went there, that the house is 'disgusting and not fit for pigs to live in' and other rubbish. The SW said he had little chance of getting custody based on the testimonies of the older children, the diabetes nurse and the endocrine nurse. She said the court would not split up the children without absolute need and having to share a bedroom with your sister is not an absolute need. I am waiting for her to call me back on Monday and I am filling her in on our latest drama.. I also have reason to believe he is in the process of applying for passports in the girls names.. though I don't know how to check.. but I will!
But he will be run over by the karma bus soon.. and hopefully a double decker or 2 too..
I have had the Hive central heating system thing installed.. a vain attempt at saving more quids.. so while he was in the cupboard I dug out the balls of wool I needed out for Moomins blanket and the cocoon for the new grandbeast.. I might do Moomins blanket next.. I can do other stuff when I get bored of purple!
I have emptied the bathroom of grot, thrown out the bath mat.. it was falling to bits everywhere and making a right mess, I put away all the toiletries and bleached the bog and emptied the bins and threw all the dirty laundry in the basket.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Oh yikes, the nitties, lol. I de-school DD on a Wednesday night so she was washed and combed, but I could see her scratching at gymnastics earlier so might check again.
Yes, she made a miraculous recovery, so has been to gymnastics then we met friends and had lunch at a play gym. We've not long been home, but mixed some paint colours and done a couple of pics.
Just having a brew now and waiting for WM to finish, then I think I'll go tackle the spare room floordrobe.
We are having scampi for dinner, lol, DS chose it, he thinks it's like chicken dippers but fish, bless him.
Can't believe its 3pm!Bossymoo

Hi all
Flying is not happening here. I mean how can you clean and tidy when you have a sofa in the hall and about a 6 inch gap all the way around it. Good job we are all fairly skinny. Hopefully this is the last day I will have the plasterer in then I can clean the kitchen properly and we will have a little breather before stage 2. No idea what we are going to eat tonight! It may be something from the chip shop.
Pigpen, I have no practical advice but you seem like such a capable person and such a good Mum and its so unfair that life has thrown this at you. I just hope things get better.
Mrs-m. You made me smile. Should have seen me rushing out with the bin last week in my pink fluffy dressing gown and OHs wellies.
Right, paid stuff to do for an hour.0 -
I haven't caught up with the thread. Hugs, sticks, spoons and cuppas as necessary. X
I had a filling yesterday and thanks to hyper mobile joints I think my jaw is suffering. I can't open it very far.
Ground floor henried
Kitchen and conservatory mopped
Sinks shined
Bathroom cleaned
Ds2 has a sore throat but has gone to school.
Ds1 and I are off to another uni open day tomorrow.
Black bin emptied and cleaned0 -
I did an hour ironing this morning, then got distracted by ds2 on the iPad. He had gone onto one of ds1's old math games and was counting the number of objects and finding the numbers to match! I didn't know he could do that!
Then this afternoon I have been sorting out all the car boot stuff. I have photographed a lot of stuff to be advertised. Sorted stuff to go in the loft tomorrow and have a pile for the charity shop.
Also ended up spending a lot of time on the phone to the council and the police. We have two different building companies working within 20 metres of each other and within 50m of the school. Why do they think they can park on double yellow lines and block the road so cars have to go onto the path! It is dangerous at school drop off and pick up! Anyway, after getting stroppy they are sending a pcso over on Monday morning!Grocery challenge-
