Weekly Flylady Thread 15th September 2014

  • Morning all. Gosh is it Thursday already? Have been very busy this week - slowly getting more organised.
First washload finished - just need it to get light so I can hang it out.

Another busy day ahead. Lots of the dreaded ironing to do, plus the paid stuff, plus a meeting after work.

Steroids seem to be working and my asthma seems to be improving. I am taking my inhalers properly and am trying to put myself near the top of the priority list.

Hugs and spoons to all who need them. I am regularly reading even if I am not posting.

    Good morning all

Glad you slept better skinty and that your medication is helping CY.

I was woken up early today by very painful knees, probably caused by our long walk on Monday :( - DH suggested D€€p H€@t so I now smell like an amateur footballer on a Saturday night. TBH, I think it works by giving you a different sort of sensation to think about  but I can wash it all off in the shower later.

I am now enjoying my early-morning cuppa (and so is DH).

Yesterday I managed to do nearly everything off my list, and this morning I've already put some dried fruit in more tea to soak for baking later and started the couscous for DH's packed lunch (I shall be eating last night's leftovers ;) )

I'm hoping to achieve a lot today, but most of it is nice stuff to do, and I've broken some things down into easy stages which means that I can cross smaller things off the list between cakes :D

    - now that I've decided on my recipes, get extra baking ingredients from the local supermarket
    - make up DH's lunch and pack him off to work
    - strip our bed
    - WMx3: the weather forecast is good so I should be able to get it all dry outside
    - start pork, mushrooms and barley in the SC for tea
    - tidy the house
    - burn 3x CD-ROMs
    - print out 2x sets of return packaging labels
    - check contents of 3x resource boxes, ready to take to my friend
    - pack files for charity trustees' meeting tomorrow
    - bake 2 fruit loaves, 2 coffee sponges, a lemon drizzle traybake and a carrot cake traybake (some for DS2 and DDiL2, some for church, some for our Old Wives' anniversary party on Monday - none for me or DH :p )
    - make mini marzipan carrots
    - download 2 books for my K1ndl€
    - clean the kitchen floor
    - make up our bed
    - HHI if necessary
    - get things ready to pack for weekend away
    - choir practice this evening
    - put my phone on charge :o
    - watch WDYTYA (probably later on i-Player)

    Cuppa drunk, must get started!

Good luck to Scotland, whichever way the vote goes today. I'm sure every eligible Flylady will vote thoughtfully and, if devolution does happen, that you won't leave us :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a good day. I shall be using the spatulas, but there are still plenty of wooden spoons in the jar and more cutlery in the drawer for those who need a few extra. (((Hugs))) to all who need them.
  • Just popping in to say hello - and grab a couple of Ionafan's spoons!!

I will also be thinking of all you Scottish and living in Scotland Flyladies in today's vote.

Am keeping up with reading the thread once a day as it seems weird without you all in my daily life but I am managing to get some things done - even though they are not all working out as we'd like at the moment. Hoping for some better news later today - but it might not be!!!!

    Morning all

House seems to have become a right mess this week so I shaall be tackling that later after a food shop. Time for breakfast and some ironing. May be walking in a bit but friend is becoming unreliable and I'm not willing t keep changing the time to suit her.

Skinty and CY glad your meds are working.

Ionafan hope your knees ease as the day goes by.

I'll be glad when the scottish vote is over, bit bored of it dominating the news now.

Hello ladies, I'm picking myself up slowly, I managed to eat a little bit last night and felt better for it. DH has WFH all week to look after me. He's done his best but the house misses my attention. I want to nag but don't have the energy. I don't really feel up to flying intensively on half a jacket potato.

I managed to do a little ironing yesterday. School uniforms for my medium ones. There is no food in the house and the family has lived on take aways. I can't believe how it all falls to pieces when I'm indisposed.

    Meh....

Thinking of all things Scottish today, what a momentous day regardless of the outcome.

    Morning,

I have a rather sleepy DD today, plus I fancy a "not much" day so think Ionafan I will probably earn this weeks star today by being completely lazy and putting my feet up with a brew.

Just need to not look through the door at the bomb site that is my conservatory

    I think today will involve:
    Resting
    Small (hopefully) paid stuff job
Sorting an online shop and meal plan
    Bossymoo

    Away with the fairies
