Any chance of a link to that please? I can't find it on their site, just the bit about repairs. Thanks.0

Thanks. It'll be interesting to see what the stance is on sim free orders, I can't imagine they'll be refunding those, we live in hope!0

Good on them. Surprised Apple haven't commented, they could salvage a hell of lot of their reputation if they gave anyone who bought a phone sim free a handset. Will only be 50 or so at most, but I doubt their marketing department is that clever.0 -

Why would they? They have absolutely nothing to do with the P4U debacle.
CPW have the motivation of getting commission from signing up those P4U customers and crediting them the deposit back.
Apple isnt really going to be giving free money away to ex-P4U customers...====0 -

Read somewhere it was about 157 persons had preordered the Iphone for anything from £99 to £699.The more I live, the more I learn.

They aren't. Contract orders only

Im just amazed some people may have pre ordered the phone at £699, could get a HTC One M8 for £500 and put the rest in a savings account.
That doesn't make sense, it then means the person ends up with a HTC One when they wanted an Apple iPhone.
You could take your strange view of how to buy an iPhone even further and just buy a cheap Galaxy model for £70 and save even more. Both ways you don't get what you want...====0 -
I was the same, I pre-ordered with Phones4U, did a webchat and they confirmed that it would be delivered on launch day.
THEN I heard that they'd gone into administration, they had already pre-authorised the £699 from my account, crazily enough I had to do the order twice because the bank blocked it the first time!
Anyway, I called them on Monday 15th Sept and spoke to customer services, I waited until around 9.30 until they'd been briefed on what was going to happen to them and got through pretty easily, the girl took my order number and manually cancelled the order herself, I got this email from them immediately.
Thank you for visiting phones 4u. Unfortunately, we were unable to complete your order. Please take this email as confirmation that your order : 1004493941 has been cancelled and your account has not been charged.

Yours sincerely, Phones 4u
Since then the £699 has dropped off my pending authorisations, but the worrying thing is that they have 45 days to charge the full amount, so I'm just hoping and praying that they don't go ahead and try to charge me for the phone. I wish I'd paid the money onto my credit card and used that, can't believe I risked all that money on a debit card, I'm usually so careful with these things too but you don't expect a company like p4u to go into administration so quickly!
Please let me know how you get on with the bank chargeback and if they can help you, who are you with, just out of interest? I'm with Halifax, it's them who advised me that the pending authorisation had dropped off but they had 45 days to claim it, he did try to re-assure me that they wouldn't take it if they weren't trading, but they were never the most ethical of companies!
You are safe. The authorisation was for P4U who are no longer trading so it would be illegal for them to take the money (even if it was still pre-authorised). If the money was taken now it would be by PWC who you have no agreement with and have absolutely no legal right to debit a penny from your account. To do so would be fraud. This situation is different from people who already have had money taken.0
