  • Count me in please for October running from today 28th to the 2nd of Nov 5 weeks . I am going for £200 for the two of us. I have no real idea but we do have our own home grown meat so it could be less.
  • Hi

    Another returner!
DS and DD1 are away for the next couple of months so while there's only 3 of us I'd like to do the challenge mainly because I want the money for other things. Doesn't everybody!
Please could you put me down for £325 for October. I also need another couple of meals to add to my very limited range so I'll have a good read of the recipes.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

I seem to have our spending under control slightly with OH now more on board and not pestering me for ice-cream.
Still have lots of meat / fish / bread / meals / veg in the freezer and full cupboards so will aim for £60 this month.
I aim for this to be £10 cash, £20 nectar points, £20 morrisons vouchers and a £10 Lidl voucher.
Should only need to buy fruit and milk but am bound to be tempted by other goodies!!

  • Merzal, I really fancy an ice cream now, did you have to mention it?!

I'm in again for £200 for October, a five week month. And no freezer, just an ice box at the top of the fridge...could be interesting. I think we will be increasing to 3 veggie meals a week, meat is just too expensive for my liking.

I'm honestly not seeing how we could get the budget any lower, we already buy own brand, shop around, shop at lidl, cook from scratch, try not to waste food, pad things out with pulses etc. Oh well, it'll all come out in the wash....own brand powder of course!

I am going to reduce or spend this month to £150 please. We are away the odd weekend, and have a 5 day spell in Paris so shouldn't need as much food in, especially as we will be more than making up for it in meals out. I believe I'm away for 4 consecutive nights with work as well - food reimbursed for this thankfully!

Our (well, I say 'our' as there are two of us, but let's face it, it's all me!) month starts tomorrow. I am recovering from a lovely norovirus-type bug, so can't see a grocery shop in the near future! :o Thankfully we have lots of liquid and boring food in for me, and HM chilli in the freezer which will keep Hubbs happy.

  • My month starts on 1st October and until Christmas it's just me and Dd2, as DD1 is back still University. I have well stocked cupboards and freezer, but my big problem is DD 2, who has, at 16, suddenly become averse to eating anything but junk.

I make healthy meals but she doesn't eat them and then phones for takeaway with her pocket money! It drives me nuts.

I am just about to make a detailed meal plan for the month, but can you put me down for £240for October?

  • My month officially starts tomorrow but I had to buy some things in for the coming week.

Trip to Mr S for packed lunch items and milk - need to learn to be more organised as I had to spend a fortune in one of those Local stores: £7.50. Got some money off with my Nectar points so I suppose it is not all bad. It is still a sizeable chunk of my £25 a week budget. Grrr! A*di trip for the rest of it tomorrow.
