I'm having another NSD as I have to go to a funeral & therefore won't be near any shops to tempt me.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Another fairly small spend today of £16.19 so a total of just over £30 for 1st week of month (started 24th). This is quite a bit down of where I'd usually be so happy with that.

Not Started yet (my shopping challenge runs from the 1st to 31st) and I normally do my shopping either Friday evening or Saturday.
However, its payday today, which would usually mean a treat dinner or a takeaway....so I am really pleased that I am sticking to my meal plan from last week and not spending any of Octobers food budget until Saturday.
I also did a cleaning / toiletry cupboard inventory....6 toothpastes, 4 shampoos, 4 conditioners, 3 bubble baths and 7 shower gels...not to mention lots of half used cleaning products! Anyway I absolutely wont need to buy anything like that this month, so I am going to adjust my spend challenge to £320 for OctoberWell Behaved women seldom make history

I was looking on a blog called Bakingqueen74 earlier on - have any of you read it? She has some fab slow cooker cakes on there, and I might have a go at the aero bubbles one tomorrow. ...
That's a good site recovering spendaholic, I've put the link on the recipe list... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

£300 again for me please, to incorporate the October holidays at the end of the month. If I'm under budget again at the end of the month then I will adjust in Nov to £290.
First shop of the month due today both from Asd* and Tesc*. Would have just been the one place , but needed KIlner-esque airtight containers for flour; as one of the outside walls in my kitchen is creating mould in the top shelf of the baking cupboard due to the drop in temp. Luckily it only affected one bag before I discovered it. I wasn't in this house last October, so wouldn't have known.

Hi everyone and thanks to all who keep the board running!
I'm going to aim for £220 this month, which is a lot for 2 adults I know, but will include alcohol & perhaps some to put aside for Christmas.
We did a shop yesterday in Mr Ms (so we could get the current cashback offer from our debit card!) of £59.92. I bought cereal bars, tissues & washing liquid in the pound shop today, so that's another £3 to add.
I was sent an offer from Oca6o for money off my next shop so I've got that booked for Sunday, they seem to have good offers on chickens at the moment so am stocking up the big freezer!
I'm spending my day off tomorrow at home so will attempt to use the time wisely and do a proper stocktake & meal plans-all my lists are a bit out of date at the moment!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -
Quick spending update for first shop of October groceries. Just under £ 14 for Lidl and £stretcher. More spending on the cards for tomorrow as I have to go for an appointment and the clinic is next to Aldi and Mo's....I should go there before my appointment so I'm not tempted to go for a comfort shop!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

I'll be back again for October but I am upping budget to £340 as it is DS's 3rd birthday and I am throwing my first proper birthday party for him! I'm not sure if an extra £20 is enough as I need to do some practice baking (cake and biscuits) as I am not confident enough with my baking. I am providing simple party food, small pizzas, sausages, sandwiches, crisps, some fruit and veg (grapes/carrot/cucumber) then smarties biscuits and cake. Oh and some blue jelly if I can find it! I am doing a themed party - Alien Tea on Planet Zum Zee so trying to match the food in the story.
Also need to buy apples to make another batch of jam, some of which will be used for Christmas presents. Yikes I hope I can stay in budget!Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Ooooh...just gone through the freezer and made an updated list ready to have a sort before Christmas prep sneaks up on me and all of the lovely stock and leftovers that Christmas visitors and Christmas celebration meals will provide!
Also doing a month long meal plan instead of just a weekly one to make sure we use as much as possible and avoid buying anything unnecessary.
Anyone else love the feeling of starting a brand new month on here? I always love ending the month (esp. when we're under budget!) but really do feel a "clean slate" moment when I move into reading the next GC thread.
