I've no idea, but you could find out for nothing!
I am simply trying to point out how little they care about their customers - or ones who potentially aren't loaded and have 'perfect account histories, thank you very much'. Perhaps make a few people think 'wow, Lloyds are pretty harsh. Maybe I'll use someone else.'
All banks are the same. And if you, or others, think anything else then you and they are very naive. Any bank, when faced with someone not servicing their account "for whatever reason", will call in the overdraft facility. It's only a matter of when.

Although you feel that you're managing your debts, the cumulative effect of the factors in my earlier post would seem to have convinced Lloyds that they'd no longer be prepared to take the risk and it would seem that you're not going to be able to convince them otherwise.

Easy for others to say I know, but it sounds like it's time to accept it and move on rather than getting angry about Lloyds - it would probably be worth posting over on the Debt-Free Wannabe board, where there is plenty of advice about how to work your way out of financial difficulties.

I have no choice do I - I also cannot afford the £80 a month. so instead of getting the interest and monthly fee, they will get nothing but a headache, and succeed in only ruining my credit again. I'm not naive, I'm practical, and I can't see why they won't overturn the decision as it is in their best interest as well.

eskbanker I was managing my debts. Now, I cannot.

What has made me most angry is the fact that they have offered no options to me despite me saying I cannot afford these fees. Other than 'they'll just build up then' obviously, I wouldn't call that an option.

Could you make an appointment to see a customer adviser at Lloyds and explain your difficulties?

He should be able to set you up with internet banking amd might be able to come up with a payment plan.

In the meantime, shave all unnecessary expenditure.

Is there any possibility of a part time job?

I think they're very reasonable on the first of every month when they put nearly £20 in my account :)

It was a customer adviser who said the fees 'would just mount up then'. that's what I mean, I've been stitched up with no way out basically.

Why not just try and switch your account to a bank that will offer you an overdraft and then make regular payments in to it?

Would that not be the easiest solution?

Because of my credit record sadly. This is what I mean - I've sorted so much of my debt out and am servicing the remainder (4 months and it will all be gone), until now. This will be a fresh black mark which will take another god knows how long.

This is a bit of a story to bad mouth Lloyds.

Attempting to badmouth Lloyds won't help you in any way with your debts or with the health of your credit history.

You need to do something positive and tangible to help yourself to get out of the problem. £500 isn't a lot of debt to sort out but if you do not sort it, it will spiral out of control into thousands.

Help yourself, fill in an SOA now, post it over on the debtfree wannabee board now.

I have been doing a lot to help myself hence why I am servicing my debt effectively. £10 to £80 in one month is absurd, I cannot service that.
