Much loved and fondly remembered our lovely dear sweet Toots.. Special thoughts to our friends here who met and cared for her xx A candle shall be lit in her memory... nd I shall run a Toots list update.. and probably increase it by another 100 things knowing me!!

Tuesday my old puss is at vet at 9:40.. hopefully it is just something medication can handle .. love my big boy puss.

One of my new chests of drawers is broken so being returned Thursday and I need to arrange a next return.. we got 2 sizes of coats for the girls to try so all the others need to go back.

I will finish Dots dress and make a list of what I have on my knitty 'to-do' list. The teacher I made the blanket for is in hospital popping her little boy today .. I hope all goes well for her.

I have 2 chests of drawers to sort and enormous box of ebeast stuff and get the toys in the toy boxes tomorrow..

Yet another busy day.. poor OH has been nagged to death and run off his feet today. He'd get halfway through one job and I'd line up the next lol.. he got a fair bit done though ;)

Back to Dots dress.. I'm down to one stitch marker which makes things easier!

    Good Morning everyone

As a newbie to flylady I didn't know Toots but have done some reading and have decided that I'm going to spend any spare time today making a Toots Master List.

Yesterday was successful for me. I managed to get the kitchen looking relatively normal again and cleared a lot of stuff from the shelf for the charity shop. I'm going to have a little scoot around before dropping the little one at nursery in a while and heading off to work.

For those newer members of the thread Toots was one of us. She was a very kind soul and a dear friend to lot of us. I have the pleasure of thinking about her each time I start a new thread and my inbox is nearly always full as I won't delete the many PMs she sent me. In her honour I shall only be kind today.

  • this is the poem that was read out at my neighbour friends funeral last week by her grandson, i hope those of you that knew Toots will allow me on this occasion to dedicate it to her as i think that from what you all say about her these are the rules she also lived her life by.
    Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

    Be yourself.
    Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

    You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

you will probably recognise it as the lyrics to you are a child of the universe

Toots is often in my thoughts as well, especially when I garden, and I see the plants I sent her for her garden. (RIP Toots) I am sure she is up there with Diva and the others, making fly lists for every one................

Never was any good at Toots lists, I just keep adding on the bottom of it and crossing off as I go along in the book, I have about 30 odd pages now with crossings off, and things added in, shame to say page 5 of the book still has 2 things to do.....................I'll attempt them this week.

So far to day, I have the slow cooker on with chicken and veg, found loads of odd bits of chicken in freezer so this is one way I can use them up.

    More apples pealed

Kitchen draws all cleaned out, rubbish shucked out, all items clean and tidy back in.

    Tip and wrk 2 now

  • Morning Flyladies

It's so lovely to read you remembering Toots with such fondness, she may be gone but her legacy lives on in your hearts. Bless you all xx

We were up at silly o'clock to strip beds and get showered to remove the Lyclear, I feel itchier this morning than yesterday but I think that's due to the lanolin in the cream, I've never fared well with it.

Third load is on to wash and I have a pile of ironing to tackle. Have rearranged Friday's second customer for Thursday afternoon instead, yet another of my regulars is poorly; I'm beginning to think I need to change my career sooner than anticipated, I had hoped that this scrubbing malarkey would see me through until DS2 starts at secondary school but with 8 customers having spent time in hospital since the start of the year, I'm beginning to flap a bit

I need to collect the new shower rail from Screwf!x today and hopefully get it installed, although I may need DH'S assistance.
Just having a quick brew and then I'll get stuck into wrapping DH's birthday presents, bit annoyed that a parcel Amaz0n promised me would be here by today hasn't even been dispatched yet. Looks like he's getting an IOU in his mini-haul :(

    I'm here! (staggers in :( )
Been having a carppy time. As well as my normal carppy life, my next door neighbour drove into me!!:mad: So I've had to spend the end of last week trying to sort out inspections and repairs (still working on it this week  )
The weekend I spent chauffeuring DD2 around to drumming shows and photo shoots (Canterbury university - show for military dinner, Dover castle - Photo shoot)
Yesterday I took my best friend and her husband to a meeting about her disability money so that took up my morning.
My head is such a muddle at the moment I've had to get DD1 to write me a list of what I'm meant to be doing and when :o

So far I've taken DD1 to work, picked a parcel up for DD2.
Put the airer of clothes that didn't dry over night outside.
1 load of washing done, another in the WM
    DW unloaded and reloaded
Chicken breasts got out of the freezer for dinner tonight.
Cat litter trays soaking before scrubbing, we have two new kittens so have litter trays everywhere! One kitten will only use the nasty cheap gravel stuff she came with which needs changing all the time cos it stinks _pale_ It doesn't help that the other kitten (they didn't come together) and Dcat1 (who refuses to go out) think they can use the same one
I need to work out how to wean Little Cat2 off that litter  I also need to know how to stop the big cats eating the kittens food. Any advice would be gratefully received :D

I'll check in again later TTFN :hello:

could you mix some of the good cat litter you use for the others in with the cheap and gradually increase the mix of the one you like using till the cats got used to that so that eventually you are just using one type.

sorry havent got a clue about how to stop other cats eating the kitten food apart from keeping them out of the room while kitten is being fed.

table booked for meal, CS rung up told them what im planning on bringing and hes told me how to park round near their back door and to ring the bell to save risking double yellows or lugging it all across town so IT WILL GO this weekend

took throw down to friends shop and have a bag of mags to leave at the hospital this afternoon
