East Midlands Airport Missed flight - where do I stand?

Sorry to bump an old thread.

Can anybody tell me if East Midlands have got their act together with the security queues?

I'm flying from there on Thursday morning and considering booking the Escape lounge, but I'm a little concerned that if I get stuck in the kind of queues mentioned in this thread I'm not going to have much time to use it.

Peak times or a 'security alert', I wouldn't risk 2 hours these days if I was
paying.
OK 98% of the time but the 2% can be expensive.
Arrive earlier, go through security, head for bar, drink in moderation
(and watch the screens!)

They're still slow ... very, very slow.

My advice, having used EMA just this morning, give yourself plenty of time and then double it!!! It was chaos, literally six planes leaving about the same time and slow slow slow security and Ryanair bag drop queues. I would say leave 3 hrs....?

Or just don't use the dump. Travel the extra half our and use BHX as long as there are flights going to the same destination.

I travelling through EMA in February and other half did last month, both times security was a breeze - less than 5 min wait.

What time of day did you go through Security?

I travelled mid afternoon and OH flew early morning.
