Some children in this country are raised in the most unimaginable circumstances. Poverty, abuse and neglect can warp and scar a child for life. Some live in conditions not fit for an animal.I don't believe that people are born evil but people can perform evil acts. That doesn't mean that we should write them off.
I hope he is getting the hugs he needs right now.
I am split on this one, we have a little fire starter on our estate - he is aged about 9 and his family life is appaling. He also has some kind of special needs, the response from his mum when he has been caught lighting yet another fire (usually in bins but once his nans house) is "if he said he didn't do it, he didn't do it" His dad is locked up for beating his mum...what hope?
On the other hand, at 14 I would expect most kids to have reached an age where they can see right from wrong - especially something on this scale. The dogs home is on my doorstep and I see the groups of kids - up to no good, hanging around the nearby estate. They have been caught trying to hurt animals on bonfire night before now and there is no excuse for it whatever kind of upbringing they have had.
We will never truly know if the fire was lit with the intention of hurting the dogs but why did he choose the dogs home in the first place?? I think of myself as a compassionate person but am struggling with this one0 -

Unfortunately this behaviour is all signs of a sociopath, animal abuse, and fire setting. Often attributed to upbringing. Whether they are born like that or made like that has been debated for many years.
Its a real shame for innocents caught in the carnage. But as ever the wonderful nation of animal lovers have rallied and really that's what incredible here.
Hopefully if it was this young lad he can receive treatment or at least be kept safely because unfortunately they won't be able to change him now.0 -
Thanks TM - just ordered a sample for ds - nana did for her house too
Thanks troutabout, glad to hear that you got what you needed for your little one. I didnt realise that you could appeal if they said no the first ime - good to know. I hope your username does not mean that you are a sa-coupon hater :rotfl: Am sure not :rotfl:
Thought I had a day off but had a call to go and mind GS because he is poorly and can't go to nursery. So much for my nice soak in the tub this afternoon.

I bought some Martini Asti Spumante in T's a couple of days ago. Compared nicely with A, £8.49 v £6. Just bought some more but A's has now gone up to £7.75 but compared to Morries at £6.49. I got 2 bottles + 4 small bottles to equal 6 for the 25% off. The Asti did work out at £3.88 a bottle but now it's £4.37. Still a good price. My mum's 100 next month so a cheap acceptable drink for a small toast which she'll like.
Hi Annie,
I thought my prices were different at A but I've just realised that I should have bought in 2's.
