  • Back from the dentist. Tooth is still in place! 10mins of yanking twisting and pulling it hasn't moved! just sore now. I started crying (I'm scared of dentist anyway) so he had to stop. I've been referred for conscious sedation now.

I don't often but I couldn't stop for ages glad I didn't bother with breakfast as well

I am about to post the most controversial thing I've ever written on here.

My heart goes out to the suffering that these poor dogs have gone through but my heart also goes out to the child who (allegedly) committed arson.
He is a child and we know nothing about his circumstances but already there are calls for his head:o
Some children in this country are raised in the most unimaginable circumstances. Poverty, abuse and neglect can warp and scar a child for life. Some live in conditions not fit for an animal.I don't believe that people are born evil but people can perform evil acts. That doesn't mean that we should write them off.

I hope he is getting the hugs he needs right now.
this is so true now you have written it down and i said they should chop his hands off:eek:
beacuse we live a comfortable life as such, yes some of us struggle but not down to poverty, not that i am aware of anyway:o

Sending you hugs, sounds horiffic. I've had 2 teeth out, luckily both went smoothly wisdom one I had the sedation which definitely helped.

Hope you are referred very quickly, so it's sorted out!

I bought some Martini Asti Spumante in T's a couple of days ago. Compared nicely with A, £8.49 v £6. Just bought some more but A's has now gone up to £7.75 but compared to Morries at £6.49. I got 2 bottles + 4 small bottles to equal 6 for the 25% off. The Asti did work out at £3.88 a bottle but now it's £4.37. Still a good price. My mum's 100 next month so a cheap acceptable drink for a small toast which she'll like.

Was rough but just got up again well about 45 mins ago and feeling a tad better thanks:D

Glad the painkillers are working for you now bubbs. Sorry I forgot to say earlier:o It should feel better once the pressure dressing is removed. The first dressing applied in theatre is often a bit tight and painful, but it prevents a haematoma developing, which is much more painful, and necessitates another op to remove it.
Carpet fitters have been:T The bedroon looks lovely, so all my hard work was worth it. Now got to put all the furniture and 'stuff' back in. The wardrobe stash needs tetris ing, so I may be a while;)

I am split on this one, we have a little fire starter on our estate - he is aged about 9 and his family life is appalling. He also has some kind of special needs, the response from his mum when he has been caught lighting yet another fire (usually in bins but once his nans house) is "if he said he didn't do it, he didn't do it" His dad is locked up for beating his mum...what hope?

On the other hand, at 14 I would expect most kids to have reached an age where they can see right from wrong - especially something on this scale. The dogs home is on my doorstep and I see the groups of kids - up to no good, hanging around the nearby estate. They have been caught trying to hurt animals on bonfire night before now and there is no excuse for it whatever kind of upbringing they have had.

We will never truly know if the fire was lit with the intention of hurting the dogs but why did he choose the dogs home in the first place?? I think of myself as a compassionate person but am struggling with this one :(

:) I do think at a 'normal' age of 14 you do know your own mind & are responsible for your actions.
We will find out more regarding their background/mental health in the future.
I hope they did not deliberately set out to burn the whole place down, hoping it was something that got out of hand.

Yesterday I came across an article asking why FB would not ban the video of extreme cruelty to a kitten - I had to read it even though I knew I would dwell with the horror of what they had done for ever :(:(:(:(
