  • The peppermint brownies are just like the normal ones, but using peppermint essence instead of vanilla.

    6 eggs seperated
    60g cocoa
    100g sweetener
    1 tsp peppermint essence

put yolks, cocoa, sweetener and essence in and mix, whisk the whites until they peak and fold in. Put in tin and cook for 20m on 180c

They're ok like that and 12 syns in the whole pan, I just don't care for the fake sweetener taste, so I melted 90g of mint aero for another 24 syns, cut it into 18, 2 syns a portion and quite satisfying.

You could use less aero or more, or experiment with other flavours.
  • Morning all!

B - Oats (HEB), Onken (2), frozen fruit
L - Cauliflower cheese soup (half HEA), half ham sandwich (3 bread, 1 spread), clementine
    S - Muller greek (0.5)
D - Chicken and spinach balti (1 paste), rice, sorbet (5)

Does anybody have any opinions on how diet fizzy drinks can affect weight loss? Not seeing any movement on scales this week and have been sticking to the plan religiously. I'm wondering if it could be bloat from the fizzy. I drink up to about 2L of Pepsi Max a day:eek: Cutting it for today to see if it helps.

Thinking of doing falafel balls for taster on saturday possibly with a couple of low syn dips. Only trouble is they do tend to be better warm.

Diet pop is difficult to break down due to the sweeteners in it, so you retain water to dilute it and then wee it out. Its not massively good for you, but does I find fill you up.

Make sure you drink a lot of water as well, and I'd try to cut back a bit.

I drink fruit teas which are free for a bit of flavour but drink a fair amount of water.

Well done to all the losers and hugs to anyone that needs them.

I'm making falafel to take to taster tomorrow morning. I agree that they're nicer warm but they're not too bad cold. I've got the mixture in the fridge firming up at the moment and will cook them later this afternoon as won't have time tonight as going to DGD's school concert.

I've got a squash, chickpea & red lentil curry in the SC for dinner tonight, which we'll have early, about 5pm, so that we eat before the concert. If I'm feeling peckish when I get home I'll still have an HEA and HEB to have so could possibly have some Ryvita & goat's cheese.

    Today's plan in Green:

    B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB1)
L - jacket potato with LO veg & gravy from last night's navarin of lamb (DH is having all the LO meat!)
D - squash, chickpea & red lentil curry with rice. May make some SW onion bharjis later if I feel like it.

May also have supper (as above) of Ryvitas & goat's cheese (HEA2/ HEB2)

HEA1 will be milk in tea throughout the day.

Have had so many syns this week will probably try not to have any today.

I think I'm going to have a pepsi max embargo until weigh in on saturday then. I find it stops me from eating in a way that squash doesn't. I don't drink hot drinks so my choices are limited.

    Well done mumoftwo!:j

it is a funny time of year though, 2 weeks to go and then a fresh start, new year and all that ;)

If any of you have the new magazine there are some good articles in there. One that touched me was called: Let go of the guilt. Really good.

Just go with the flow, don't beat yourself up, be kind to yourself. I have found in the past that I can be so hard on myself about gaining, but the result is more eating. I am working hard on being kinder to myself :o

Forgot to say, I also won a years subscription to the magazine at the raffle in class this morning :j and they liked my crudit!s and dips, salsa and tuna cucumber cups I made this morning, so all in all , I am having a good day for a change :T:T

  • Weigh in last night, another -2lbs for me Shah!

For the person who asked about when Iceland was launching the meal deals, it is the 16th Jan.

Had our party, really good and my peppermint aero brownies were such a success I had to cut them in half to make them 1 Syn each!

Tried some really nice stuff, stuff I might not think about trying at home so got some good ideas.

Mince Pies using Brown Bread as pastry
    Dahl
    Scanbran Cake
    Nice houmous
    Fake Ferroro Rocher

I thought the rice pudding made with almond milk was a bit :(

Well done jock on your loss. :T Thanks for info re iceland meals.
