Busy busy. Trying to stay on plan but it's difficult

Party/taster at group tomorrow morning. Going to make kebab with mini pitta breads(31/2 syns, will cut them in half) and salad as per this recipe:

Going to make it for tea so I can see if it's any good ;)

Kind thoughts and hugs for you that are struggling, not long before its all over. Hang in there :kisses3:

I love Christmas, not the same as when the kids were small. I put up the tree at the beginning of Dec, but as soon as it is over, I want it all down, house back to normal, fresh start for the New Year.

    Gotta go to post office
  • hallo one and all,

Lately it seems everything just gets in the way of me actually doing anything bar reading emails on my PC at work and I've been juggling 10 million tasks at home!

I am trying my bestest to stick to plan :) though also still using up some bits (I am that much of a hoarder plus we vary meals so much now it can take a while to finish anything off!) but today has been all on plan so far and tea will only be 3 syns or so (meatballs and pasta with a sauce)

Trying to plan ahead and looking to January to see if I can't get some evening meals planned or at least work out a plan for using the slow cooker a lot more! Bf has tried a coupe of new things he likes so they have been added to the list :) but it's payday Friday and then I will stock up on all sorts of goodness, portion and freeze so it's just defrost, chop meat, add to pot and go :)

Sneaky mid week weigh shows I have already lost the weight I had put back on in the past few weeks being all messed up with my meds so anything from here down is new territory this year - fingers crossed for another pound or two to make an escape before Thursday ;)

Has anyone actually heard when the SW meals might be in Iceland?

  • I weigh myself every morning and before I go to bed at least, I also often just go on the scales to see how my weight fluctuates. I also weigh myself before I go to group.

I like that I can see if I need to adjust as the week goes on but I don't have a great track record when it comes to staying sane while dieting!

    Well done retiredlady!:j
  • Hi, can anyone help me please? I started SW 5 was ago but for the past 2 wks had family commitments so only stayed for the weigh in. Was told the party is this week and have no idea what to take as I am still trying to get my head round normal meals. Is there anything Anyone could suggest I could buy rather than make as not that confident at cooking. I am not sure what kind of things people take.
    Thanks BTC X

those litle grinch santas above look pretty easy and cute.. fruit skewers would be easy too, i'm going to do some on mikado sticks 1/2 syn, would have to use a normal skewer to make a hole first I think..

asda (chosen by you) pigs in blankets 1 syn each.. veg sticks and a syn free dip..

dont worry tho as not everyone takes stuff in.. a pack of cut up fruit, bottle of S/F pop would do just as well ;)

Hi everyone, apologies again for not responding to individual posts as I'm always pushed for time midweek and the thread moves fast!

I am reading everyone's posts though - this thread is so helpful.

I went and joined SW last night, it's a small meeting but very friendly and they gave me a lovely warm welcome. I explained to the consultant that I will be a bit erratic over the next few weeks but want to join now just for the psychological nudge towards taking control - she was very helpful and understanding.

    So today, I've had:

    B. Oatso simple (6.5, have a lot of these to use up after buying loads on offer), apple, clementine

    L. Pasta with small amount of tomato and chicken sauce (guessing about 5 syns)

    D. Pork mince hotpot thing with carrot and swede (15)

    S. Apple, clemantines, 2 dairy milk chocolates (not sure of syn value), 2 lees snowballs (not sure of syn value)

    HEA: 15g cheddar, milk (about 200ml semi-skimmed)
HEB: none - can I count the oatso as porridge?

So quite a bit more than double the syns I should have been aiming for, I think? I haven't written everything down like this for a long time.

It's easy to see why I've been gaining weight - I'd normally go on to have a lot of biscuits, cake, crisps or chocolate on top of that lot. Not doing so today is a major victory, in spite of going so far over on syns.

Tomorrow is the second taster since I've started SW.

Last time I took ham spread thinly with philidelphia and rolled up, cut into pieces and stuck on a cocktail stick, and I took flavoured green tea for people to try.

A lot of people brought in eggy dishes and someone brought slow cooker curry.

You can make a salad or pickles, nicely arranged . I would stay away from anything with more than a few syns. I thought about making soup and taking it in a flask but someone else in our class is already doing that.

Crudit!s with low syn dips, I think there are dip recipes on the SW website

    Hope that helps

I've made these before with the Mikado sticks. The sticks go through the fruit easy enough but you need to make them up right at the last moment. I made them about 2 hours before and the sticks were soggy and horrible from the fruit!
