I'm definitely happy to help if it's within board rules Redcola :D

Question: I cooked this yummy dinner this evening - I left the chicken skin on whilst cooking, but took it, and any fatty bits off before eating I presume this is okay because people eat roast chicken, which would have skin on and remove it? Am I right?

Similar question with fish - am I supposed to leave the skin off before cooking, on whilst cooking then remove or can I eat fish skin? (I love fish skin, not so bothered about the chicken)

PS I have tried googling - but I trust you lot more lol x :) x
PPS the dog was REALLY pleased I can't eat chicken skin.

I watched most of the race saw Mo win :j:j:j

You will have to go and have a long soak in a bubble bath. :)

    Should ease your sunburnt .

I have to be careful in the sun I never get a tan and if sun catches me I feel sick. So I tend to cover up could never sit out in it I would get heat/sunstroke :(

    Hello all

Congratulations to all who have lost, and hello to the newbies.

Shala sorry I should have said I was STS on Wednesday.

Been MIA as have been super busy and mega tired at night but still sticking to the plan. It helps that DH has said that he wants to lose a few pounds so wants to join in as he needs to lose a few lbs. So we will have decided that we will weigh in on Friday mornings and have our own wee club going. I am going to sling £5 in a pot for our weigh in to save for new clothes when I have lost all my weight.

As a result we had a good root through my mags and this weekend we have had the Thia fish cakes (Friday night), pulled pork - thanks Shala for the recipe (Saturday night), French onion soup (lunch today).

We have planned a couple of new things for next week including the spring lamb hotpot, Singapore style egg noodles and I want to try and make some falafels tomorrow to take for lunch next week.

Phew that was longer than I intended :o
    Today's menu was
breakfast - LM sausages, omlette with toms and mushrooms
Lunch - french onion soup (3 syns)
dinner - roast chicken, roast pots and parsnips, carrots and broccoli

no need for any snacks today as we are so stuffed

Thank you Tweets and MupElle, what are the board rules though? Will check them out, basically I just wanted ideas on what to cook with what I have in, minimum spending involved. I did get some great budget recipes upthread, so will be using them too

So have started to make a meal plan based on the suggestions I had, and wondered is there somewhere I could post what I have in and ask for suggestions on meal ideas? Sometimes a fresh set of eyes are all is needed. Could I do it here, or the old style board, or is it not done so much anymore?

It happens all the time on OS and can't think of any reason why it should be against board rules. So what you're saying is you post what you have in and we suggest ways of making SW friendly meals from them. I'm up for that!

I think it must have been on the old thread. IIRC it was about baking a JP, scooping out the flesh and then mixing with a HEA of cheese and whatever else (bacon? ham?) before finishing off in the oven/grill.

lauri, the veg you like is limited but doable. The ones you like are good for roasting. I enjoy roasted veg stirred through pasta either hot or cold and it makes a good side with fish or meat. And I see you have salad so that's SF too. Do you eat tomatoes? What about pickles?
