I'm a teacher (although in a completely different environment, I teach in a YOI/prison so don't get gifts) but I HATE anything Lush makes, cannot stomach the smells! I have to avoid the shop in town, my best friends loves it so I have to send my OH in to get her birthday/xmas pressies! :rotfl:

Oh I'm with you on the smell thing, hate it makes me gag (sorry TMI).
Also I only have a shower so anything to do with baths usually given away.
The parents at my school are mostly from another planet :D, both Christmas and end of year they clubbed together and gave the 3 adults in class £s in John Lewis vouchers. I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of money they must have collected as we all got the same amount.
Personally I would rather they did nothing but if they insist then something homemade would mean more to me. I just love the little things the children make for me, they put their heart into them.
Tree decs are a good one at chrimble.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

:T for more lovely losses and Hi to esme.

I agree with shala that weightloss doesn't always (ever???;)) follow a regular pattern. You can't be doing too much wrong as you're losing well.

What is it you find hard about EE? Looking at your menus I'd say that unless you want to take full advantage of the extra HEXs or need an occasional low SF day then you might as well stick with EE.

Also I'm finding Extra Easy a bit hard on some days but I haven't really got my head around red/green days. I think the menu below is a green day but I'm not sure.....

    B Alpen lights and banana
L HM vegetable and chickpea curry with boiled rice, salad (toms, cucumber and onion) with dressing made from FF yoghurt and fresh mint
D Bacon (1 slice) and Mushroom omlette with baked beans, small wholemeal roll, Muller FF Greek lemon yoghurt

To use your second HEB for bacon and no extra HEA doesn't take advantage. You've probably got enough SFs there to call it EE.

Today may be a red day??
    B Mushroom omlette with beans
L Roast chicken with lots of veg and SW roasties
D Either Ham or prawn salad
    Fruit as snacks

Like shala said, you'd have to syn your roast potatoes (only jackets and new potatoes with skin are HEBs on red). The beans would have to be a HEB or synned. So you end up synning things that you can have as much as you like of on EE.

Hex A tends to be milk for coffee. Syns have always been within range, sometimes just used for cooking (eg Pataks paste for the curry)

    Am I getting this right?

Hope this helps. Do feel free to ask any questions you like.:)

mildredd, I'm another teacher as is my DD1. I always liked flowers but they can be inconvenient at the end of term if you're planning to go away. I don't know any teacher who likes those mugs and other stuff from Card Factory although my DD does use one of the 'best teacher' keyrings. The trouble with toiletries is that they can so individual like flutterby says. Chocolates and biscuits for sharing in the staff room are probably the best idea as all the staff come into contact with your DD. They'll be enjoyed well into January.

Hope the run went well gbatey. Do let us know how you got on.

    My EE menu for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk for teas
L: ham, bubble & squeak, pickles
D: beef, roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, cabbage
Syns: gravy (negligible syns with Hairy Bikers Recipe), scrape of spread, maybe horseradish, weekend wine.:j

Slightly random question but Christmas gifts for mini mes nursery staff?
Just wondering what other people's thoughts are on acceptable items and budgets :/ (slowly whittling down my shopping list)

    Hi,Mildredd,
At the end of last school year (14 months ago),this is what my 4 kids did,and teachers loved them.
We bought white plates,£2.50 each.(We bought them at Sainsburys).Using Sharpies pens, the kids decorated a plate for their teacher, with a combination of drawings and written messages. Then the plates were baked in the oven (think it was about 180 degrees C for half an hour). The teachers loved them.I am not sure whether the teachers use them to eat from, but at least two of them have them on display.

    Found it:

Shala - checking in for wk1 of the challenge and am disappointed to report +1lb
I wouldn't mind so much if I'd had a bad week, or even a bad day but no

I write down everything I eat in a diary with notes on syns/HEXs etc to keep track during the day so that I don't go over. I always do green days but think I'll have to get a couple of red days in a week, maybe too much carbs are getting me. I don't really do EE as I don't like very much fruit or veg.
Think I'll also up the physical activity & try and get a walk in each day at lunchtime at work.
A new week so I'll just draw a wee line
    _______________________________

    Green day today
B: weetabix minis & SS Milk & cup of tea (HEB, HEA & 1 syn for sugar)
L: 2 eggs & half a tin of baked beans (free - eggs done in frylight)
D: Roast beef, baby potatoes, peas and onions, gravy (HEB, free, 1.5 syns for gravy & 4.5 for a bit of butter on spuds)
    Drinks: NAS juice
Snacks: Might see if I can use up whatever syns I have left later (prob be a rocky road hifi bar (3 syns))
Well done to everyone who has had a loss or STS
All us +er's will just have to try harder this week :j

Hi Lauri, hope you don't mind me commenting...

Your menu looks fine for a green day (assuming your beef is your second heb)

Your gain could be hormonal or just one of those things, keep plodding on as Beanie would say :D you may get a big loss next week to make up for it. If you haven't swayed from plan at all then it's more likely to be water weight than a "fat" weight gain.

If it helps go back to basics, measure all your healthy extras - 60g beef isn't very much at all :( and i'm not sure how much Weetabix minis you should have but I bet it doesn't look much :(

Good luck for next week x
