  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese omelette. There is a load more salad under the omelette. Massively puffy and light omelette. Very tasty and I actually couldn't finish it all.

    GRRRRR.....................
    (Rant alert!!)

Have had it in my head all week that I was going to make samosas-NEVER AGAIN!!
Had checked on Monday that I had all ingredients.Any I didn't have,I bought that day. This afternoon I did a grocery shop, needed a few spices for the Tikka I was also going to make.
Got home, start mixing the mince with spices-no darn chilli powder (have crushed chilli,no chilli powder.)Go to tiny local shop, fortunately they have chilli powder.Misread recipe, had forgotten garam masala and fresh coriander were to be added in last few minutes of cooking, not with rest of ingredients.Managed to pluck out coriander, spent the cooking time worrying about overcooking garam (I vaguely recall it is usually added last thing in a recipe).
When it had cooled down, then I had the nightmare of assembly-darn filo pastry.Far too delicate for me to be working with.First I cut it into the wrong shape,so that went to waste.Found more sheets, and the sheets just tore in my hand as I tried to fill them.So basically my samosas are sort of sausage-shaped  .

Just realised the tikka recipe I have been given on a taster night doesn't have any amounts listed, just the ingredients. So lots of finger-crossing going on tonight. If it doesn't taste nice,I know I will cry.It tasted beautiful at group.

PS: and I realised earlier that, when I was buying a few bits at Morrisons,I think I left about £4 change in the self-service till.Never done that before.Don't they usually have an alarm that goes off when the til can feel you've left your change?I know some supermarkets do,but not used to shopping at Mrriesons
    (End rant)

Annie, that's some list, you're sorted for a while!!

saver-upper - well done for carrying on - i'd have had a temper tantrum and everything would have ended up in the bin with us up the chippie!
    :T

Well the shopping arrived just in time for tea so we had lovely fresh salad, I also ordered some after eight yogurts and they had them in stock :j:j one's in the freezer for later.. mmm i'm hoping it tastes a bit like mint choc chip! (also got coconut lime and Turkish delight )

OH has just tried to tempt me with a bread roll and salted mixed nuts but I've told him he's not going to sabotage (sp?) me!! His health kick didn't last long did it! We'd agreed to one takeaway on Thursday and the rest of the time to be on track (ish)..

Right here's the chart.. give me a kick if I've missed anyone.. I seem to be missing about half the people who joined so i'm assuming a lot of you weigh tomorrow or have dropped out.

I have had peanut butter for breakfast every day for probably 10 years... I've only had it twice in the last 14 days.... I'm having complete withdrawals and I know there's some gorgeous old fashioned in the cupboard and a packet of peanuts

    WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH save me...

    DON'T MENTION THE N WORD ;);)

Oh god, peanut butter is the one thing I'm missing so badly. When I get to target I shall reward myself with some on toast. It's the only thing getting me through!

Feeling quite rough today due to a cold, but did go for a 2 hour walk earlier. Food looks like this for today:

B - porridge (HEB) made with water, ff natural yogurt, apple, banana, cinnamon
L - Broccoli and cheese pasta and sauce made with water, broccoli, cauliflower, grilled chicken
D - Jacket potato with tuna, cheese (HEA) and salad (mixed leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes)
    S - Weetabix oaty bar (3.5 syns)

Now going to curl up on the sofa with a chamomile tea and my book while OH is down the pub. Hope you're all having a good weekend.

ETA - Shala, I weigh in on a Monday so will tell you my loss (hopefully) for the first week then

Found the chilli powder, which I HAD bought in my shopping this morning, hiding in the corner of the shopping bag.In all my years of cooking,I have never needed chilli powder. Now I have 2 jars of it :o

Found said change in a corner of my handbag :o

And the tikka was nice. Not beautiful like the one we'd had on the taster night, but nice.Having to guess quantities is never my strong point,so I may have got ratios wrong.
Am I the only one who groans a bit when you ask for the recipe of something and the cook says "Oh,I just chuck in a bit of this and a bit of that"?
Not sure samosas and a chicken tikka meal was worth 5 hours of cooking time, but never mind .

    Menu today:
Breakky:2 slices wholemeal toast with Flora light marg, marmite
Late lunch:2 samosas (1 syn each)
Tea:chicken tikka and Batchelors pilau rice (2 syns for whole family meal,so negligible in my serve)
later will have some melon for snacks

God you are SO much better than me! If I don't feel brilliant, it's the only thing I can stomach (weirdly) so I'll continue having it every now and then, but obviously it takes up a lot of syns... :/

I'm v impressed with your will power :D
