Helloooo everyone, great to see pics
Question: Can I make a traditional chicken soup, the proper way by boiling up the carcass of a chicken and it be syn free? I'm unsure...
Today:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, toast (hexb), tea (1/2 hexa) flora light (1) and half a quorn sausage (1) - we were trying out the Quorn sausages, they're okay, I think they'll be okay in a stew.
Lunch: Minestrone soup, corn thins (3) and a pod of light philly (1/2 hex a)
Dinner: Salmon from the fish man, SW chips, baby corn & mange tout and maybe some salad.
Snacks: FINGER OF FUDGEI didn't have this yesterday I decided to use my syns on vodka ha ha
I may also have a little extra light mayo with my salmon om nom nom...

What about trying this curry loaf flutterby?
https://www.facebook.com/notes/slimming-world-recipe-share/chickpea-dahl-loaf-free-on-ee-and-green/436716596350950
I've had it at taster sessions and it was really good.
crabapple, well done on telling your mum. Shame she's not a bit more interested in your weightloss.:( But don't worry, we are!! I set my target by just conjuring a weight out of the air that I remembered being but you don't need to set anything if you don't want to. Some people set them a stone (or any little milestone) at a time or just keep going until they're satisfied.
mupelle, I can't see a problem with the soup. Surely the most synful part is the skin and that would be long gone by the time you got to boiling the carcass.
Today's not going to be a good one. I've had my HEX breakfast. We're out for a pub lunch so that'll probably involve bread or chips or both. If we're hungry later then I have Chinese (black bean so quite low) available. I'll be back on it tomorrow though. I'm making the Hairy Bikers braised beef again as it was such a hit last week.
Have a good day all.0 -

maman - haha! I had just decided on this and SW falafels after spending the last hour googling! I will report back tonight once cooked. thanks
crabapple - I haven't told my mum I'm doing SW either. Nor my friends yet. I have told my OH and my new work colleagues. My mum can be a bit like yours and I don't want the hassle. My 1st day on SW I had to go out for lunch with my mum and nan but luckily I could have jacket pot with beans with no questions being asked of me! And I haven't had a meal out with friends yet so it's not come up!* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Hello
I posted a couple of weeks ago introducing myself and explained how I was on here etc, got lots of lovely welcomes & came back.. different thread already! Will have to catch up..
I'm not sure if this is allowed, just say if not & I'll delete. I am in a bit of a tight situation for next few months & finding it all a bit overwhelming, however I really would like to stick to SW when it comes to food shopping & I wonder if its possible on my budget & if someone would mind advising please?
Thank you, off to catch up on the thread while the dc are occupied!0 -
I had chicken carcass 'soup' for most of last week - can't beat it in my opinion and a chance to whack in tons of veg. Mine was more veg than liquid.
My dinner today was nom, nom nom after I finally decided on rib eye steak and SW style chips with a big pile of roasted veggies, including aubergine, peppers, onion, tomato and mushrooms. I think I'm going to make this a regular Saturday treat now that we have more summery veg is on it's way back into the shops.
My syns today were mostly in the form of a Coconut Macaroon.Mortgage

For Shala - loss of 1.2lb more than happy with that :j. Nice to start the challenge with a loss for a change
As for setting target, when I did it I just wanted to be a comfortable size 12. I lost 2st and called target when I got there. Didn't set any kind of target at the beginning as you don't have too. Went on to lose another stone by myself and been here(ish) ever since.
It CAN be done just keep the Faith :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Crabapple, I think you can call target whenever you want.. we were always told if you get on the scale one day and decide you're happy then call target then.
Mupelle - weirdly i'm just cooking a chicken in the slowcooker and will be making soup with it too! I just make sure I skim all the fat off the stock before I turn it into soup..
Maman - enjoy your lunch
Well OH has decided he's eating healthily this week (even though we're on holidays) so I imagine it'll last a few days at most :rotfl: i'll grab my chance to stay on track for those few days
Brunch - 2 poached eggs, 2 toast (heb)
Afternoon snack - cheese(hea) and apple
Tea - chicken, SW chips, corn on the cob, salad
Snacks - orange
I have some carrots that need using so i'm going to try and make some carrot crisps later... added superfree hopefully..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

It is possible on a budget you just have to be flexible with things like named brand or cheap stuff. If you don't mind the cheaper brands (mostly no taste difference to me) then just shop around. Aldi is good for cheap fruit and veg, I go mostly for veg as a lot of fruit is on my avoid list these days because of intolerance to certain sugars. I think veg is better for you anyway.
I'm sure others will have advice too.
Good luck :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
