  • Weight in last night 3.5 off for me!

No idea quite how, my own scales predicted about losing 1lb, but it got me my 2.5 stone sticker (which was my goal for Christmas) so my new goal is to try and be 14st for Christmas (4 more off).

There was a poster up for the new diet this week, I want to say it was called SP but am not sure, extra easy will still be an option. We'll get a pack in the week starting after Christmas, and be lectured on it throughout January.

They've done away with Superfree and Superfast because it was too confusing (their words not mine). The theory is that all veg, etc. is good for you.

The point of the new diet is for people who may want to lose weight quicker, there will also be a P symbol for protein.

As for telling people to come instead of sacking it off to the New year, I understand. I could easily gain a stone in the period, so far better to limit it where you can. It's just a general message as we got it also, I guess they see their takings drop off at Christmas time.

Well done on your loss and progress Jock :T

There were about half the usual number at WI last night (not helped by it being cold and wet I suspect). The focus was on making healthy choices as far as possible and strategies for Christmas parties and meals. I'm hoping to lose a bit more before then and will definitely be flexi-synning Christmas Day itself but will try and be on plan otherwise.

I do have the advantage of not having any Christmas dos to go to and as we eat with family on the day itself won't stock our house up with treats.

but I've felt like I've been permanently in that PMS stage where nothing goes right and you just feel run down and bloat-y and really just can't be bothered!

You just summed up exactly how I have felt for about the past month!!

Some fantastic losses this week. Well done to you all. Well done on SOTW to Lois & Jock.

Well done Maman on resisting those chips!!!

Managed to keep my syns down to a couple yesterday and had a big salad starter with balsamic dressing before our main course of chilli squid & rice. It's the first time I've ever cooked squid (DH usually does it as I'm not good with frying {probably a good job as I'd probably have more fried stuff if I did}). I was quite impressed with it and will definitely do it again although could have done with a bit more squid as the recipe amount didn't seem to be enough. I made quite a bit of rice to go with it but was still a bit hungry after so had a couple of satsumas and some green and red grapes after.

Oh, just realised that was a 3 course meal - unheard of on a Tuesday night, LOL!

On to today - another EE day and another new recipe to try:

B - porridge made with water, Mullerlight. Followed by a couple of satsumas & grapes
L - sweet chilli prawn noodles with loads of salady bits chopped through it
D - chicken & mushroom fricassee - uses creme fraiche (yoghurt never seems to work for me - it just splits and looks horrible! Will have with herby rice. May have a salad starter again as really enjoyed it yesterday. It seems to be a fairly common thing to do in Germany as not everything goes with salad very well.

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - creme fraiche 6; flour 2

Enjoy your day everyone and good luck to today's weighers.

You're right of course Shala. However unfortunately due to the nature of my mental health issues I do always think it's aimed at me :( nothing I can do about that :( I realise now it was a genuine message.

We are always getting stuff like this and I too can take it personally at times! I know how you feel! : ) Such a touchy subject is weight and weight loss. If only it was just about losing weight never mind the rest of the issues that come with it!

Sorry I forgot to report in on yesterday's group meeting. As expected I gained 1 lb so am now a pound under my 5 1/2 stone :(
I'm sure it will come off next week though, I had a couple lunches out plus our groups Xmas outing accounted for that gain. Could have been worse!

Here is what I found out about the planned changes:
There will no longer be super speed foods, although all fruit will still be free.
The new plan will be in addition to EE. So you will be able to mix the two but not on the same day.
The new but will be more protein based and sounds to me like lower carb:j:j. For example no bananas for free on the new one.
You can have 2 HEB on the new one, but not potato or rice.
The new plan is supposed to give quicker weight loss:beer:

That's about it for now, try to find out next Tuesday evening at next class.
Also can I be added to the chart please?

If that's the case I can see a proper riot breaking down in my group. The only reason some people do and like slimming world in my group is due to the free spuds and carbs etc. When I was losing big I reduced my carbs and it worked for me. (Still ate them - just reduced them) Maybe they have now realised that you cannot eat "unlimited pasta, potatoes etc as they advertise and lose weight"!.

    Morning all

Blimey, there've been some great results amongst you all, you're an inspiration!

Well done Annie, you must feel completely different, is it time for a new wardrobe now?

Well done Jocko, KarleyMarie, crabapple and everyone winning the fight against the battle of the bulge!

The new plan sounds interesting; I agree with you about eating large amounts of pasta, rice and potatoes lantanna, I'm sure there are individuals who will lose weight despite doing that but I think for the majority, carbs need to be eaten in moderation.

Today we have friends coming round to share a roast dinner - she is a veggie and he misses joints of meat with all the trimmings so when I mentioned it to them he went all dewy eyed! :rotfl:

    Have a good day.

Well I'm more than aware if I eat massive plates of pasta I gain weight, so I take the eat as much carbs as you can with a pinch of salt and put a modest third on my plate.

I do think the new plan is aimed at people looking to lose weight faster, as a lot of people in my group seem to be disapointed with their plodding weight losses. I suppose it doesn't help when I do well but I walk 7 miles a day getting to work.

I think I'll be giving it a go for a week and see what I think, I like EE because most of the food we eat is suitable for all the family, I can't really make a 1 year old and a 3 year old do the Atkins diet.

That's just on the new plan. EE will still be available so you will be able to keep your unlimited spuds and rice!
I'm quite looking forward to it, I've never really been able to lose on EE, which is why I do Red days only. But I think they are stopping red and green days now:mad:
