Not very organised today. I'm feeling a bit fragile after far too many wine syns last night. So far I've had kippers for breakfast, and just snacked on beetroot at lunchtime. I've done my meal plan now need to venture out to do some shopping.

Oh my maman - feeling fragile and you had kippers _pale_ :rotfl::rotfl:

Hoping for a better nights sleep tonight. Last night I was still wide awake at 3 am and eventually dozed off and then was awake again around 6am. Haven't been too bad most of the day but it has really hit me now.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.

No, not the best idea but like crabapple, that's what happens when my DH is left unsupervised to cook.

Had a free SW dinner (burger, chips, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and peas) but did indulge a bit in a cracker and cheese and square of chocolate.:o

mumoftwo, I buy Aldi's Moser Roth 70% dark chocolate with 5 x 25g bars in a pack. DH and I share a bar and I try to have the 'smaller' half. Lidl's sound even better with just 12.5g in a small bar. I'm sure lantanna will report back soon on the brand.

I think that would be a good idea. For too long we've all been brainwashed into thinking fat is the enemy and bad for us, when in fact it is an essential nutrient. I treat avocado, olives and olive oil like free food (in moderation of course) and I'm losing weight. They contain good fats so they shouldn't be synned! They're just as good for you as oily fish, which is free.

    Rant over... :rotfl:

I am just delurking for a minute to say how much I agree with you re fats. I'm not talking vegetable fats like margarine or cooking oils as I think they are not good for you. I follow the red plan but I don't count healthy fats either! I eat Advocado, butter, coconut oil and olive oil. I'm not saying I eat loads of it but when I use it I don't count it! I also eat very little fruit except for berries. I've been doing SW for almost 10 years😱. Up till last Christmas I had lost 5 stone. Since then I started adding more fat, reduced the fruit and cut out the starchy vegs, I've lost 5 1/2 stone this year. That makes a total of 10 1/2 stone. The sad thing is I still have another 7 stone to lose😕.

My favorite veg is caulifloer, brocolli, spinach, green beans etc. basically the SS ones!

Thank you! I wasn't sure about posting because strictly speaking, I don't follow the plan as it is? Saying that I do attend classes every week, and hopefully the news that's coming in the New Year will mean I was just ahead of my time lol!

    Morning :)

Went to friends for dinner last night and she cooked a veggie curry with quorn pieces and rice. She only used a little oil to sweat the onions, so it fitted in very nicely with SW and it was lovely. She had cheese and biscuits for afterwards but we were all full, so I didn't have that temptation to struggle with.

I'm doing roast pork for dinner with actifry roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese (HEA+2 syns), green beans, carrots and gravy (2 syns). Not sure about the rest of the day yet but we've got plenty of salad stuff in the fridge so that will feature!

Hi retired lady - your username is familiar, did you used to post on the Lose Weight thread? I'm relatively new to this thread but I don't think there would be any problem with you posting, specially as you attend a group. You've done really well this year, you must be feeling the benefits even with a way to go. :T

Have a great Sunday everyone - we're going to a Spanish Christmas market. Tinsel and Christmas things always look strange in the sunshine, but there might be some interesting foodie items.

  • Hello retired lady and welcome.
ChRlie is lovely. My g.shepherd is 11 and thankfully still going strong and doesn't look or act his age. Our black lab is 8.
I hope avocados end up free, I love them and make a salad so much nicer but I would never "spend"the syns on one.
I'll tell you what our consultant says on Wednesday, as she did say she had news for us.
Tree going up today so just about to embark on a big clean up before we start.
