    Hi All,
Some fantastic losses lately. Well done all, and keep plodding on to all STSers and gainers.
I'm still reading, but not following SW - have had a cough for 5 weeks now, it's getting better but so slowly I'm still taking meds and cough sweets.
I have a few weekends away planned, and am going away for Xmas so am not going back to class until the new year. Will try to keep up with you all until then.

Crabapple, 1lb is good too!!!!! It is all in the right direction, that all that matters! We all need time 'off' to enjoy little things, and I think it is ok to have a few days off the plan, as long as you are in it for the long run! You already lost 3st 6lb - imagine how much that is!!!!! For comparison, my children are about 2st 2lb, they are 2.5 year olds, and on the heavy side although not fat. You have a doughter similar age and a little son, I would guess that the weights of them both added together would come to a similar number. Now - pick up both of your children at the same time - that is how much weight you have actually lost!!!!!!!! It is amazing!

In terms of weight lost I found it really helped to compare my overall loss to another physical amount? I found it quite hard after a while when it became a bit of a way of life to just be losing each week with the odd gain but if I looked at the big picture it was a lot more inspiring? Ie I've now lost 2.5 of my 2 year old that's just baffling really - 8lbs is an average new born etc, a Christmas turkey? I have to relate it to something physical to go oh okay that's a bit mad really but go me I can't go back to carrying 5 new born babies around constantly sort of thing?

My daughter weighs 2 stone 4 and my son last WI was 1 stone 4 so I've nearly lost the pair of them. And it sure feels like a lot when I pick either one of them up, it's hard to believe I was lugging that much extra chubb around with me :rotfl: And still have more to lose. And was hiding it all under black trousers and dark tops ;)

I think I've gone a bit over on syns today but that's okay, I'll just balance it out. My meals have been full of veg and I've snacked on satsumas (oh and mini meringues because they were yellow stickered ones - hence the over syns cos I hadn't budgeted for a whole box :o). I've prepped much of the sweet and sour for later and really looking forward to it, just got to get the kids to sleep first...

Hope your little one gets better soon Mildredd x

    Hi all

Regarding physical imagery of your weight loss, when I was successful with SW last time, I lost the equivalent weight of my work colleague! That was like not walking around giving someone a piggy back all the time.

Pennylane - men need more calories than women so if your husband is eating the same amount he will lose more. Is he eating enough, or feeling hungry?

Todays dinner was a SW chicken curry recipe and it was quite tasty but not very appealing in appearance and texture. I added yogurt which improved the 'gravy' slightly, but not enough to make it creamy. I might just blow syns on a jar of curry sauce next time.

Thanks for the welcomes. Had a good day yesterday made carrot and lentil soup and mushy pea curry. Then today had yoghurt and apple for breakfast, soup for lunch, new potato's, chicken and mushy pea curry sauce for tea. Had 2 alpens ( the old ones, I stocked up when they were about to change the recipe but haven't had any for ages) for B. Will have a hot choc tonight to use A and a couple of syns.
  • I joined SW same day as a man in my group. I got my 1.5stone last week, he got his 3stone!! Obviously I don't know what he eats and exercises, but I know that I have stuck to plan for the whole 15weeks. Men just tend to lose easier. There is a man in my class who joined in Jan and has lost 11stone this year!!!!

Shala - no WI for me this week as I had to take a holiday today as I wouldn't have got home in time, and there are no other classes til Sat so will just miss this week.

Verdict on the fakeaway sweet and sour chicken (quorn chicken style pieces) and egg fried rice...

Loved the rice, I've never been able to make it before but it's so easy when you know how! Liked the taste of the sweet and sour too, but as someone who always orders an extra sweet and sour sauce with chinese meals, there was nowhere near enough of it :(.

Rice is free, sweet and sour 3 syns on EE and it was really filling so a good meal for very few syns.

Have had a green day today....

    Breakfast - Bran Flakes (B) Milk (A)
    Lunch - Pasta, 5tbs Dolmio Sauce (4s) 1oz Cheddar (A)
Dinner - Baked Beans in tomato sauce, 2 slices Hovis (B)
    Supper/snack at work - Jordan's frusli bar (5s)

I also had a large Onken low fat yogurt, half at lunch time and half during my break at work (5s).

    Total syns = 14.

Still not sure if I am doing this right but I do know I feel as if I have ate far to much today to be on a diet!
Should I be weighing out the amount of pasta I have?

    Week 1 - 9lb
    Week 2 - 5lb

    Well done. Catcherupper and mumoftwo.

Hang in there Pennylane, you will get there.

All this talk of skirts and dresses has made me realise I’m enjoying wearing them a bit more now too. I hadn’t actually given it much thought before – there must be a wee trigger that turns on the inclination to wear them when a certain amount of weight is lost!

I feel heavier somehow today, don't know why. Not bloated, just heavier:( I did have 1.5 syns extra yesterday, but I've only had 4 so far today (choc digestive). Maybe it's the hangover from Monday's birthday tea . I had better not be creeping back to that wall! I still have half hexb and all hexa to have this evening.

    Thursday's Menu
    Breakfast: beans on hexb toast
Lunch: prawn mayo jacket (1), mixed salad, apple
Dinner: good old mince and tatties with carrots, followed by melon
(I'd originally mistyped and was having mice and tatties, lol!)
Snacks: 2 garibaldi (4), laughing cow light and tomatoes on 2 cream crackers (4)
    Total syns planned: 9

    Good night all.
