    Menu today

B: Soft boiled egg (one, because my son stole the other one from me), small lemon muffin (6 syns), coffee with milk (1/3 HeA)
L: Jacket potato (140g) with baked beans (150g - HeB?)
D: probably some gammon with veg. A bit of chees to top up the HeA, if not used in coffee through the day.

    Snacks: free fruits at work

Question: Can I call this a red day if I say the potato and beans both are healthy extras B? The potato is about 140g, so that would be just under 2/3 of healthy B, and bleans are 150g - which is slightly more than 1 healthy B, so a total of 1 2/3 of healthy B for a day? Then gammon is a free food tonight and will fill up on the veg.

You may as well call this an EE day as you could only call the 150g beans HEB you would need to syn the jacket potato. Although if you're happy to do that then you could have an extra HEA of milk or cheese.

OH just said he would like to have pea and ham soup witht he remaining gammon, so could I have that and call my day EEE?

I see potato, beans and dried peas are free foods on EE, and the little gammon that is left is also free on EE!? And maybe a slice of toast with the soup for HexB?

    Morning all

I lost the plot a bit with my syns last night (after being good all day) so I'm hopeful I can be good today and tomorrow and see a loss on the scales.

I had boiled eggs for breakfast with HEB bread. Lunch is a thin with beef and English mustard and tea is undecided at the moment but I expect will involve sw chips.

I shall be snacking on grapes and raspberries this morning.
Have a good day all x

PS I have a slow cooker which I've used a few times to cook when I have been at home (not brave enough to leave it on while out yet). Its made some tasty meals. :) I need to tweak how much stock I use as the dish doesn't really thicken up like it would if it was on the hob but my last meal, I cooked on low all day then turned up high and left the lid off for the last hour which helped :)

I have no problems to leave my slow cooker on when I am out. What are you afraid of - is it that food will burn or that electrical appliance is on when you are out?

If it is the first one, I think that as long as there is some liquid in, it is ok, as it does not evaporate much at all.

If it is second one - do you also run your washing machine/dishwasher only when you are at home and awake?

Hi have just found the SW thread on here while looking up some syn values. I started the Slimming world diet 2 weeks ago as I need to lose 4 stone and set myself a target of losing one stone by Christmas. My first two weeks have been......

    Week 1. 9lb lost
    Week 2. 5lb lost

.....which obviously means I have hit my target already and I am delighted but I know that I cannot expect my weight loss to be anything like the above in the future and also realise that I am going to need to work hard on keeping myself motivated when I see the scales recording loses of 1 or 2lb a week after such a good start. I hope by turning to this forum I can keep my motivation going during the good and bad times!

    Good Morning :)

erin28 :hello: Welcome to the thread and brilliant weight loss :T:T

    Morning all

The beef tagine was pretty good yesterday, we had it with a jacket potato and as I'd put lots of SF foods in it I didn't bother doing another vegetable. I put onions, tomatoes, carrots, green beans and celery in and it was all very tasty. I also put some dried apricots in and they'd virtually disappeared but you could taste the sweetness of them which balanced out the spices.

I'm glad other people bend the rules a bit - thinking of the person who counts mighty white as a HEB (sorry forgotten who it was!). I love avocado and I refuse to count them as syns - they're a SUPERFOOD for goodness sake! They may be oily but it's good for you. I think as long as you don't go overboard and the weight still comes off it's okay.

DH is playing golf today, and that set him up with a challenge re what to take with him to eat. We had porridge for breakfast (HEB) which he likes because it keeps him going longer, then he made sandwiches with cheese spread so I asked him if he was going to syn the bread (4 small slices) - no, he says, they're free aren't they? :rotfl: When I reminded him about the limit on bread and cereals he got a bit huffy and claimed he just didn't get this bl**dy diet, so I suggested he have a flexible day with extra HEBs as though he had reached target.

You do have to be quite inventive and think well ahead for these sort of occasions to make sure there's something suitable. I was thinking of trying the breakfast casserole recipe from the SW website, he could take a big wedge of that with him next time. http://group.slimmingworld.com/recipes/breakfast-casserole.aspx

Have a good week, good luck with the weigh-ins.

More a question than advice, as I'm still trying to get my head round EE too - the soup ingredients are free, however wouldn't you still need 1/3rd of the meal to be SF food? And does the SF food need to form part of the meal or can you have a separate portion of fruit or salad before or after it?
