  • So annoyed with myself. Forgot to take food to work so ate anything and everything i could get my hands on today. I just can't control my binge eating, and its getting so much worse since I have been diagnosed with early menopause. I seriously don't know why i'm bothering to try at the minute. Can't focus.

Weigh day tomorrow. Probably a waste of time doing it.

For Shala, WI loss 1lb happy with that as its in the right direction. .
Also are pilchards in tomato sauce still free? Thought I'd have them instead of boiled eggs with my salads this week.
    Thanks in advance :A

:T on the loss tie. You must be doing something right. And yes. pilchards on tomato sauce are still free.

Sorry to hear you feeling down CP. Whatever happens tomorrow, it's a new day. You can't do anything about today but you can start afresh.:)

Can't say I'm thrilled about the ready meal idea. Sounds a bit like WW and more money making to me. One of the things that pleases me about SW is that it's healthy cooking frm scratch. I'll reserve judgement until I see what they offer. Maybe some fish in sauces?;)

Thanks maman.... I'll still get weighed to assess the damage. Just hope it doesn't lead me to another binge. I genuinely believe I have a problem. I can sit and eat 12 packs of crisps and a few bars of chocolate in one go and not even remember doing it. :o

Forgot who asked about ready brek (getting old :D) it used to be a HE but now isn't. I still count it as HEB as its gluten free and I love it :p
Doesn't seem to have an adverse affect weight wise (that's all the tummy issues and comfort carp food I keep having :o).

Nice that the oxo are on offer but they are one I can't have as they have wheat and gluten in :(.

That was me; thank you! I do that with some things that aren't on the lists (like Kingsmill great white for example) and I've never had a problem. I think maybe it's to do with knowing that I am more controlled with portions etc.

I'd never really tried ready brek but I got it for bf and wonder bairn (moving her on to it once her current cereal finishes) and tried it yesterday. It was so much easier and nicer than oats so simple to me PLUS there was non of the faff or problems I keep having with traditional oats which i can only get them right on a hob and with no access at work I've had some disasters recently though at least they've meant the work microwave has had a good clean!

I have a ton of clothes to fold and put away today and need to vac and clean the bathroom too. Also need to nip out to the supermarket with bubs for philadelphi, spinach, wraps and milk. So thankful it's pay day a week on Tuesday. I hate this last week of the month tightness :/ doesn't help I'm waiting on a £28 refund from my health insurance!

I prefer the texture of ready Brek to porridge. I also make it with water, using boiling water from kettle while making my coffee. Bit of honey and it tastes just the same as with milk. I like the sachets too, stops me using too much.
(Sorry for forgetting you were the original poster, memory like a sieve these days :o)

Mich, I’ve always like fish, although less keen on shellfish other than prawn and lobster, Strange since I can remember gathering wilks and clappy doos (not sure of spellings here) with my parents when I was wee, and gleefully tucking into them with a safety pin after mum had cooked them. I usually choose fish when I’m out too. I just want to get some sort of loss to get me back on track. 2 more fishy days to go, but tomorrow will only have 2 fishy meals as it’s granddaughter’s birthday tea.

TIE, I use this recipe for fish pie

Grim day here. Wet and windy for a change.:(

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies with HEA milk
L: LO hotpot (just finished it was yummy:drool:)
D: roast lamb, roast potatoes and parsnips, cabbage, cauli, broccoli, red cabbage, carrots
    Syns: gravy, weekend wine:j

The hotpot was from this month's magazine. Unfortunately I didn't have any celery but added leeks and mushrooms to bulk up SF. I'm still using those jars of sliced mushrooms from Home Bargains. I can't remember the price but loads cheaper per kg than fresh. They're perfect for adding to any casseroles or sauces.

Has anyone tried the chicken with tarragon in the magazine?

Mich - can't believe your fishy week gave you a sts!! enjoy your chicken today though.. it'll be a nice change ;)

Agree with Maman, i'm disappointed if the news is ready meals.. although I suppose at a push it would be good to have some in the freezer for emergencies.. I liked that SW moved more towards eating fruit and veg rather than pushing the pasta and sauces, mug shotz and mullerlights as much as it used too.. presumably we'll all be pushed towards ready meals now.. wonder if we'll be given a voucher to test some though :rotfl:

Having a struggle again at the moment, don't know what to eat! Hopefully when i'm back at work it'll settle back into routine again!

Today is an EE day - please feel free to check it because i'm not sure where i'm going wrong :( I've listed everything in detail.

    B - OH made me toast - HEB +2, spread 2
L - hm burgers on lettuce and onion, 20g cheese (0.5hea) 1 tbsp. ketchp 1
T - hunters chicken (chicken, lean bacon, sw bbq sauce) 20g cheese (0.5 hea) Sw chips, 1/3 plate salad, corn on the cob, butterbud (0.5)
S - cup of tea (1) satsuma, banana, carrot batons, NAS squash, pepsi max

I've decided to write everything in a note book, copying you mich :D I find it easier than on the sheets they give you...
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Ooh. Ready meals. Good good :) as most of you know I used to rely heavily on ready meals so will definitely investigate them!
I too have things that aren't on the list as HEB's- I also have Ready Brek. I don't like Oats so Simple and I can't measure properly due to my dyscalculia so I like the measured ready Brek sachets.
I think that SW are still pushing mug shots and Mullerlights- they are in my group anyway. I got a great murmur of disapproval when I said that I have the Activia 0% as they tend to be cheaper and last longer. I know there are also people in my group who cannot have Mullerlights and it got my back up that they were being told that's all they could have. It seems like they don't advertise other syn free flavoured yoghurts are available  I also politely told my consultant on the phone that I've stopped eating Mugshots as they don't fill me up- that was another annoyance of the fact 'eat a Mugshot and an apple for a filling lunch' was been parroted but it really isn't!!
Also has anyone else found they've been discouraged from following any other plan than EE? I remarked to my consultant on the phone that I was doing a green day because I eat very little meat. Her first reaction was 'oh but you can't have meat with that!' Which to be fair she did correct herself when she realised what I said. She then said I couldn't have beans/pasta/potatoes apart from my HEXB to which I pointed out I could. She was insistent she was right until she checked and realised I was actually right. She did her best to put me off bless her but I wasn't to be dissuaded and I did my green day :D I'm needing extra fibre at the minute and don't want to use my syns for it- that's for my chocolate ;)
Sorry I've been quiet- haven't been feeling too well and have had tummy troubles shall we say :o hope everyone's ok x
