Mich - can we have the recipe for the butternut squash onion bhajis please
the bhajis I made with our jalfrezi weren't the best!
Its a tweaked version of a bahji recipe I have.. this is the full recipe, I didnt use the full amounts and added squash with the potato to mash
8oz mashed potato
400g tin chickpeas
2 thinly sliced onions (If being lazy I use pre-chopped bag)
S+P
approx.. add to your own taste.. 2 tbsp curry powder.. I add a bit of garam masala, cumin, hot chilli too
chopped coriander (dried does just as well)
if a bit of moisture needed add some beaten egg
heat oven to 200c / gas 6
fry onions in frylight until soft
drain chickpeas and mash (I blitz with hand blender)
add to mash, onions, spices and seasoning
add egg if needed, best not to have the mix too sloppy
spray baking tray with frylight
roll mix into balls and flatten
spray and cook in oven till golden brown0 -
you've just missed one kim kim.. last week it ended, 12 wk countdown and you got a free christmas book.. not heard of any more coming up..You've just missed one! They were doing a 12 week countdown and giving away the Christmas book but it finished last week.
The only thing going at the moment is Bring a Friend, Get a Free Week.
Denise
That's quite annoying because I joined last week & I asked. The person on the desk said she didn't know of any, but on my first week I had to just pay the joining fee & one week & I could buy a countdown the following week if I wanted - I didnt push it (I knew she was wrong, because I thought I would wait for the offer to come round.
Was it def avaliable last week?0 -

Yes, I was on the pay desk last week and was still taking names for the book for those getting the 12 wk countdown..0 -
Some fantastic losses tonight. Well done all.:TIs that a sachet you mix in with the veg in the slow cooker?
I looked it up and the Schwartz curry mix is actually 3.5 for the whole powdered sachet for the slow cooker. Hopefully jock will come back and tell us how it turned out.
Hope the painkillers are working lantanna and hope you're OK lush, you sounded a bit down in the dumps for you.:)
I'm sure you've all heard the saying 'as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb', well that was me today! After cinema (Mr Turner, really enjoyed it) we called in a Wetherspoons and it was curry night. So I had lamb rogan josh with all the trimmings and even shared a side of chips with DH.
Line drawn, meal planning and shopping tomorrow.:)0 -
Cheer up, lantana. Hope you feel better soon. Everyone here is sending good vibrations your way.
Congratulations, Lord Duke, tazzy. shala and mich.
mich, sorry you didn’t manage to get the cheaper smoked salmon. The nearest one to me doesn’t stock it, but online shopping comes from a different branch, and they do have it!
Hope the wee man is a bouncy boy again, tazzy.
Well, I managed to stay on plan ALL day, using up 4 syns in the process. Except we swapped the risotto for fried egg, bacon, to,atoes & mushrooms. So I had a slice of delicious HM maple syrup and pecan bread (with butter) to use up the rest!!! It was well worth it.
Friday's menu will be pinched from SW mag.
Breakfast: boiled eggs & hexb soldiers
Lunch: chicken salsa salad
Dinner: cauliflower saag aloo with rice (not sure about this, but we'll give it a try. And I have a cauli to use up!)

Morning
Reporting a 2.5lb loss this week at weigh in on Tuesday!!
Not sure if the challenge was for October and November - but have only 3 and a half pounds to go to my target. Have fixed it quite high for a strange reason I won't go into on here - but really hope that I'll settle naturally at a lower target after Xmas.
Everyone is doing so well - keep up the good work. xJuly 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

Wow, some really good losses on here in the last couple of pages! Well done to all of you :T
Hope your little boy gets better soon tazzy, and that you are feeling better too lantanna.
Yesterday went wrong againI seem to have lost my mojo lately, in fact since I got my 3 stone award. Wouldn't mind, but I have to lose another 2 stone to get to target, so I need to get back on it. I'm thinking of doing SE for the rest of the week to try and kickstart things again but whether I'll suceed is a whole other matter!
Got a tesco trip shortly to buy a few essentials and will then start chopping veg for lunch and dinner
In good news, my filling has been replaced and instead of it being a temp job like I was expecting it's all sorted, plus she did my checkup and there's nothing else wrong so I don't have to go back for months.

Happy Friday all
Shala 1/2 pound loss for me this week
its dull and miserable where I am. I didn't want to leave duvet land this morning. Was too warm and cozy... zzzz
I have been having boiled eggs and HEB soldiers for breakfast the last few days which I find quite filling so I haven't been so tempted to raid the office sweet supply. I've not really missed having HEB toast and peanut butter (quite a lot of syns).
Instead of soup this week, I've been having the kingsmill thins which work out at 5 syns but are surprisingly quite filling. I had mine with beef slices and English mustard. Yesterday I followed it with a salad (pre-packed mind) and felt quite virtuous.
Happy days being lazy the other evening, I did slimming world chips which I roasted in the oven with peppers, flat mushrooms and a few bacon lardons (few syns). Then last five mins, chucked an egg on top. Was so tasty, I had it again last night! wasn't quite the same (added an onion and used different bacon) but still filled me up and no snacking or wine syns.
I've had boiled eggs and HEB bread for my breakfast today.. Lunch is a thin (5 syns) filled with beef slices and English mustard (syns).
not quite sure on tea. may be pasta..... will try to resist the Friday night syns tonight....
Have a good day all xxx0
