As a former member used to buy countdowns when they offered a free gift with it. Anyone know if there are any countdown offers coming up?

You've just missed one! They were doing a 12 week countdown and giving away the Christmas book but it finished last week.

The only thing going at the moment is Bring a Friend, Get a Free Week.

I think we have had these before and they are very good for 0.5 syn. Only had a couple of syns earlier today so the gastro fish wasn't too bad as I'm trying to up my syns a little bit.

Will look out for the Gastro fish they look nice :)

I have also been upping my syns this week to see if it makes any difference to weight loss.

About 4 weeks ago I cut out buying loads of fruit to see what happened and I am still losing around the same. I was spending about a fiver a week on fruit which I couldn't really afford.

I've tried to cut down on fruit a bit too tweets. DH loves fruit and has a habit of finishing off meals with huge bowls of mixed fruit and yoghurt and does one for me too. Whilst it maybe syn free I still think that it has loads of natural sugar and of course as you say it does shove the shopping bill up. Will just have to see how things work out.

    No offers on countdowns AFAIK.

I am hoping to persuade a friend or two to go so I can get a free week or two as I am totally totally skint.

Also agreeing on fruit & veg being so dear.
I could get offers on crap much cheaper :(

I was throwing so much fruit away it was unreal so just get some bananas and a pineapple in aldi.. used to be lazy and get it chopped and prepared in tesco but cut backs had to be made.. just need to get one of those cutters as its such a pain to chop up a full one ;)

I rummage in the reduced section if in tesco / asda for blueberries on offer and thats about it.. ;)

I work in school kitchen so when in work if any veg left from service I bring a bowl full home to have with my tea ;).

I buy the frozen steamed veg 4 bags in a packet. When I go shopping I look if they have any fresh whoopsied for the same night or night after. Living on my own I find the steam packets are great.
