So I joined up on Thursday night and then since then I just can't stop eating crap grrr. Had a significant birthday last week but all the celebrations were this weekend. My mate arrived out Fri evening just as I was looking forward to cooking my free shepherds pie but she was dropping hints about my surprise that I mindlessly added in butter to my mash. I was so cross with myself. She also brought out a cream laden cake and so I couldn't refuse that although I did manage to cut a smaller slice for me. Cue Saturday when the OH decides he will make pancakes cooked in real butter (this from the fella who can hardly find the kettle in the kitchen ) still I guess it is the thought that counts right??
So moving on to Sat night where a group of 8 of us went away for my birthday (that was the surprise) and had dinner and drinks out and sure needless to say there was no stopping us. Breakfast in the hotel then on Sunday was carb laden and sure I was so tired and hungover that had a burger from the chippy on Sun night with a bar of caramel chocolate.
Time to try pull it all back in I think.SPC #352

I do a lot of chicken/steak stir frys - I live alone.
I like those ready made sweet & sour & other type of Chinese ready made sauces.
Any idea what the lowest ones are?
They are the only ready sauces I buy but mid week after a long day at work they are so easy.0 -
Hi! :wave:Can I join the Slinky for Santa challenge please? A couple of weeks ago I set myself a target of losing 1.5 stone for Christmas and I've already managed to shift 6.5lb, so my aim will be a further 14.5lb by Christmas. (From looking at other people's posts I think I'm supposed to write that in big red font?! I'm not just trying to bellow at you all!). My usual SW class is a Wednesday night, but I'm going to a bonfire this week, so will be weighing in a a day early tomorrow night.

Halloween Parties. Dear lord. The Calories...
The wine! - Still it is done and gone and I am shaking off the +2lb gain.
And I 'have' to go to a bonfire party this week too. I will be STRONG. I WILL! :rotfl:
I've managed to speed read everybody's comments since my last visit. TEN PAGES ALREADY! Novel anyone?Needless to say I can not remember who's come back from weeks/ends away - but I am glad you had fun
Well done on the losses, the nominations, welcome back to all those MIA. A 'Meh' for those of us that haven't seen the scales budge in the direction we want. There is always next week, right?!
Thank you SHALA for keeping track of everything and putting my numbers in all the right boxes (I don't know how you keep up...!) Only because of your charting do I know that I am actually -snails pace this time - getting somewhere.
(EDITED: no idea why it's showing in a superduper spaced out font setting. It does not reflect my personal state of being at all.: D

Blue dragon sweet and sour is 5 syns.. quite low if you stretch it for 2 meals..other flavours and the Amoy sachets are around 6 syns or more.. Easy to do it for free or less syns using a tbsp of hoisin (2) or sweet chilli (1-2) and make it go a bit further with soy sauce / rice vinegar / 5-spice / garlic or a bit of passata even to thicken it
Not sure on the supermarket own brands syn wise..0 -
Hello Folksies, well I haven't had a good start to my s4s challenge. I've put on 1lb!! I have tried to be good but OH has been off work this week too and we have eaten out twice with friends. Next week looks as if it will be hard too because I am away in a hotel from Friday to Sunday, but I will make the best choices possible. It is hard especially as I am in the healthy weight range for my height but want to reduce the spare tyre round my middle. My mum has diabetes and I don't want to go the same way.
This is a late posting because I have had trouble logging on to the site again. Sorry if it messes up your system, Shala, but please will you record my shame?0 -
Back from wi and reporting a 1lb gain - didn't see that one coming
. In all honesty I don't think it is that I have eaten more syns/not weighing things I think it is more likely that I haven't been drinking enough and have had a few tummy issues going on this week. Will have to pay more attention this week to make sure that I am getting enough fluids and hopefully will eradicate the tummy issues.
Welcome on board blinkered and boredjellybean :hello:
Well done to the losers and hang on in there the sts and gainers.
Congratulations to our very own Miss Slinky (aka Mildredd) :T
Feel a bit meh tonight we are trying the Texas Cheesy Fries tonight when DS comes in from work (about 30 mins and counting) and I might just have to have a finger of twirl too - not on the same plate though
Thanks again for our amazing charts Shala - you are a star. :T
Hope you all have a good week.
