  • Thanks for the advice Consultant31 - prob wine not water 😊. I can see the sense in what you are saying but I'm a compulsive weigher. Crabapple like you I like to have an idea of how the week's going so far, although sometimes when it's going well my willpower goes and I have a biscuit 😕.

Could you try and wean yourself off, only weigh every other day instead?

Well I've got a busy, busy week at work this week so I've tried to be a bit more prepared than usual.. :D

Beef stew is cooking in the slow cooker for tomorrow, potato skins are cooked and in the freezer for some lunches, meal planner is done with easy cook recipes for OH when i'm working late and i'll do a big pasta bake tonight and portion the left overs up for more lunches :j:j

My cheesy chips were magnificent and I've just sat down to a cuppa and an alpen light... scared I won't be losing anything this week as I feel a bit bloaty :( we'll see what happens Thursday

Sunday lunch was delish but quite high syns me thinks
Lamb ( very lean) so syn free
Lots of veggies couldn't taste butter so syn free
    Tablespoon stuffing 2 syns
2 small roast parsnips and 3 smallish roast spuds ( 4 syns for oil)
Gravy (lots and very thick) 4 syns

    So probably about 10 syns
Won't have any syns tonight and I've got homemade veggie soup for tea later
    Hope I've guesstimated ok

Well, a big disappointment with this WI 1lb gain. So, the loss I had last week I have put back. I can not deviate one little bit.. I think I will have to try less Syns. The thing is, the little treats stop you from getting bored with the plan. I will try it for one week and see how it goes. So,the menu plan for Monday I will take off my Syns unless it's a bit for gravy and the like.. I shall do it for sweet stuff etc. Right then Shala 1 lb this week gain:(

Wiz - it's not a good idea to have no syns at all; the plan says you should have 5-15 syns a day so if you are going to cut down please ensure you still have at least 5 syns a day otherwise you're not really following the plan. I know it's very frustrating when you gain when you've been "good" but quite often it'll be water retention. Good luck for next week.

I need to up my syns a bit from today until Wednesday as even with going way over on Saturday the other days have been very low; 1 day only 2.5, a couple of days of 5.5. I really need to use all my syns otherwise I seem to gain - I really don't understand why but that's how it seems to be. Think I may pop some corn later (I've got an air popper) and that's only 5 syns for 25g and 25g is quite a lot!

    Having another EE day today:

B - porridge made with water, Mullerlight (either Vanilla or banana custard whichever is at the front!); chopped banana on top
    L - bacon & mushroom omlette
D - Cauliflower pilaf (from freezer). This was a bit bland when I made it so will add some spices plus some of the LO chicken from yesterday.

I'm also planning on making a curry for the freezer with the rest of the LO chicken which we'll have later in the week.

HEA - milk in teas throughout the day
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - fruit split lolly 3; pink 'n' white 2.5; 25g popcorn (?) 5; so either 5.5 or 10.5

I'm not sure when we need to report in but shala last week, I maintained and I will know tomorrow how I have done this week.

I have had a mixed week where some days have been better than others but still munching those syns and too many sweet syns as well. Not helped by our office sweet supply that people seem to replenish on a regular basis and also not helped by me buying a huge tub of sweets for Halloween trick or treat only to get no visitors! I don't want to bring the sweets into work as I will only be tempted but likewise I don't really want them at home.

I am feeling annoyed this morning. Its Monday morning which I dislike anyway and I am frustrated that attempts to make contact with local repair computer bods over the last week to try and get my laptop repaired have proved fruitless. I've been in touch with at least 4 or 5 companies and only one replied after I chased to say they were busy with a contract and couldn't help. I'm not keen on using p c w orld and thought someone local would welcome the work but I think because of the job (replacing the cooling fan which means pretty much taking the laptop apart) they want to run a mile!

So sorry enough waffle. My menu today is something like fat free natural yogurt and muesli for breakfast, pumpkin curry for lunch. and roasted veg and breaded chicken (syns) for tea. treats and more syns include small dairy milk bar and no syns with my sliced up orange. Will try to resist the sweets.

have a good day all xx

No idea what I'm going to eat today - as little as possible :(

Grrr to dentists - started ringing when they opened at 8 but kept getting engaged tone, then I finally get through at 8.15 and all the emergency appointments are gone, so I've got to try again tomorrow :(

I managed to make one for Thursday afternoon if I fail to get an emergency before then. Not happy. Can only be thankful I am not in loads of pain.

Greentiger - if its any consultation I do no a bit of how you feel. I lost my good bracelet that my mum and dad got me years ago out shopping on Saturday.

The only thing I can think of is its come off whilst I've been trying on shirts in Primark. Of course no one has handed it in. It wasn't worth much at all but it had sentimental value and I wore it.

You would wonder why someone would go to the bother of handing in a purse after taking the money out of it!

So weekend wasn't great, went out on Saturday and fell into the Chinese on the way home after having way too much wine.

Anyway the usual story - on the claw back now!
