  • Morning everybody. I haven't had a very good start this weekend. Went out for a meal last night and as it was a set menu I just enjoyed every mouthful and put syns to the back of my mind. Got weighed this morning and I've put on 1 1/2lbs in a day!! Back on track today and hope to have shed that and a little more by Friday weigh-in. Not sure if it's a good or bad idea to weigh myself every day but I can't get out of the habit of doing it.

I need to menu plan for the week today as I'm back at work tomorrow and know if I don't have a good idea of what we will eat for the week I'll reach for the cheese when I'm hungry.

Envious of those of you who've started Christmas shopping. Every year I plan to start early and have a relaxed week before the big day - haven't managed it yet. Need to start now.

    Have a lovely Sunday everybody.

That 1.5lbs you appear to have gained will most likely be water so don't worry about it.....having one meal out wouldnt (couldn't) put that much actually fat on :)

However, I genuinely would encourage you to discard the scales. Put them in the loft or something because weighing yourself every day is going to drive you nuts. Get weighed once a week, in group, wearing similar clothes and you will get a true indication of how well you're doing.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Shala, love the straight edges on 2 sides of the egg with– it looks so neat on the plate, lol. Thanks for the chart.

Just to point out, I don't have OCD :rotfl: i cook 3 eggs at a time so OH can have 2.. it's just the cuts to separate them all.. although now you mention it, it does look neat :D

I have to agree with consultant about midweek weighing. It motivates some people but I'm sure it depresses even more. I find it's my clothes that tend to tell me how I'm doing, skinny jeans in particular.

Not much planned today but need to portion up and freeze the curry and chilli I made yesterday.

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: probably beef and vegetable soup
D: slow roast pork with roast potatoes, parsnips, and SF veggies
Syns: gravy, squirt of syrup and weekend wine.

I'm a home weigher, can't seem to stop myself. Weigh several times daily

I'm used to the fact it goes up and down during the day, I just have to see that over time it is going down :D. Thing is, it should give me a good idea of what will happen at group, but I've had weeks where I've expected a small loss and got a much bigger one, so perhaps my scales are not that reliable!

    Thanks Shala.

I'm pretty scared to eat anything in case it hurts and/or breaks my tooth. I'm hungry, which is not something I've had happen often on SW. Got lunch in a bit and hoping I can just get everything to the back of my mouth and keep it away from the hole. Then need to ring dentist first thing in the morning and beg for an appointment :(

Welcome and hello to all newbies :)
    Welcome back to lurkers

Welllllllll Friday was a right off - went to the Halloween party mini me charmed new boys family a ridiculous amount and I safely put a safe distance between me and the trays of hot dogs/mac n cheese/pizza/chips/ bowl of sweets plus cakes etc - I congratulated myself
Then boy suggested going for a late night window shop and food ... We ended up in an all you can eat Chinese which was a little hidden gem
Yesterday was a bit of a wobbly day but I resisted going out for dinner with the boy again. I'm hoping for a slight loss anything off would be good for me but I'm doubtful

I don't know how to say ill lose for Xmas I'm just going for as close to target as possible :/ which is 15lb :/ oh that's a lot

I need my jaw wiring for a few weeks and locking in a house with only water n hifi bars :/ with no Internet or phone access
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb
