  • Morning.
I made the brownies yesterday but none of us liked them as the sweetener taste was too strong. There are however, 9 more and I don't like waste so I'm going to have another one after tea.
I am going to the dentist this morning for a crown prep so I don't know if I will eat all I'm planning.
    HE a skim milk
HE b hifi salted caramel bar.
    B hifi and figs
    L savory rice, banana, mullerlight
D LO bacon and courgette pasta, 1 syn brownie
    BM walk to school

I have bought some of the new mullerlight after dinner mint flavour. Does anyone know their syn value please. Hoping they are free like the other sprinkles varieties.
Hope you all have a great day.

They are free!!! I have just scoffed one and they are scrummy. Hope the shops keep a good stock of them cos I can well see my trolley having loads of them in it.
  • Hi all,

Im new to SW. Still trying to work out what I can and cant eat!
I have a question. I bought Aldi Brooklea strawberry fat free yogurt - then realized that because its flavored, I have to syn it. I looked it up and it looks like a whole tub is 9 syns. However I have only had a quarter of the tub over my fruit this morning for breakfast. Does that mean I have to quarter the syns? so in effect im only having 2.5syns?
    Can someone help?

    Thank you in advance

I always have trouble finding the syn value for ALDI food on the SW website,so will keep looking, though someone here might might be able to confirm:
Yoghurts don't have syns just because they are flavoured. There are lots of syn-free flavoured yoghurts around (eg most, but not all Muller Lights).Especially if it is "fat-free",it might be lower in syns.
Off to try and find ALDI yoghurts on SW website................

  • I had one of those moments gazing in the fridges in the supermarket; I was late out of the office, it's cold, wet and windy out and there's me faced with shopping and stuff to put away and wanting something super quick for dinner .... I was in a bit of a tizzy and couldn't think of anything I wanted that would be remotely SW friendly. I so very nearly gave into the pizzas or the fresh pasta and sauce with garlic bread but somehow rallied myself and went back to the veggie section for beansprouts etc and ended up making stir fry with chicken and tons of SF mushroom, onion, peppers and noodles. Phew!

    B. Yoghurt (1), berries and a nana
    L. Tuna mayo sandwich (3 Syns & Hexb) with chopped up gherkins and bowl of salad + an apple
    D. Chicken & noodle stir fry
Snacks. 4 squares of some rubbishy cheap minty chocolate guessing about 6 or 7 syns and so not worth it. :(

  • Hi everyone! I've been following SW for a while at home and thought I might pop in here and join you all if that's ok. At my highest, I was over 14 stone which doesn't look good when you're only 5ft 2. When I weighed in Monday I was 11st 5.5 and feeling very pleased with myself. I want to initially get to 10st 7 (I can't ever remember weighing that) and then I will probably push down to 10st and then see where we go from there. If it's not too late for me to join the Autumn challenge, I'd like to lose 8lbs in the 8 weeks.

I'm going to shake up my menus, maybe have a couple of EE days a week & drink more water!! I might get myself some multivitamins as well, that's a good idea, thanks.

I don't like drinking water really so i buy the berocca type multivitamins (stores own cheapy brand though) which dissolve in water - i see it as a two in one way of getting my nutrients and hydrating :rotfl:

I can't really take vitamins, because of tummy issues, they make my tummy kill, but the dissolvable ones are really easy on the old tum - so if there's anyone else with tummy issues try them! :):)

    So today's menu:

Breakfast: Toast with a scrape of peanut butter (syns) (hexb)
Lunch: Yesterdays leftover mackerel/quark/ss veg pasta
snack: two fynns crisp with one laughing cow light triangle (half hexa other half milk for tea)
Dinner: I think this is going to end up being low fat super noodles, as I don't have time for anything else, BUT the massive plus is Hubs and DS are having fish and chips and I'M NOT :D:D :T

Need to work all the syns out on the calculator and I would imagine I'll have a toffee yog & a wafer for pud....

Pleased with myself as this is a real triggery day....

    Question: What is club 10???

Welcome ruby, good to have you around. You sound like you're well on the way to where you want to be.

    Great restraint kiwi. Well done!

These were discussed in my group today. Apparently they're quite lumpy but that's normal. People said they need a good stir and others were going to experiment with putting them in the freezer for the 'ice cream' experience.

Other news was that a new (chocolate and something) Hifi bar is coming soon and a paperback version of the Extra Easy Express book. Personally I'm happy with the internet and recipes from the magazines but many of the books are good if you like browsing cookery books.;)

Yes, you're right that flavoured yogurts aren't always synned and also right that Aldi products are difficult to look up. I don't think that's about Aldi I think it's the carp SW website!! For instance, myteeduck's yogurt doesn't come up if you put in Brooklea but it does if you search for strawberry??? There are lost of Aldi yogurts that are free. We did post a list on the old thread but consultant warned that the SW police might not approve.

I went to group this morning and gained 1lb.:( Despite this everyone was very congratulatory at my staying at target for 3 years.

I've looked through my diary and what with family birthdays, meals out, weekend away and a holiday at the end September is going to be a bit of a trial. What I've decided to do is be as good (for which read syn free) as I can on the 'normal' days and then work hard after to claw back the damage in the run up to Christmas. If it's OK with everyone I'll post on the good days and skirt over the bad ones.:o

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk
L: LO chicken casserole (no chicken but loads of veggies in it)
D: sausage, mash, carrots, onions and whatever frozen SF I can find
Syns: sausages 2 syns, gravy 2?
