are there any offers on at SW at the moment0

Ok its is working!
Miss Slinky, I was it in my group last year. Basically everyone votes for someone in the group who is inspirational and motivates them etc. You don't have to have lost the most amount of weight or be at target to be nominated.
On the night everyone who is nominated gets to make a little speech about what losing weight has meant to them, how they stay motivated what they enjoy about the plan etc. Then the group will vote for the winner
I got a certificate, a sash and flowers last year.
There is also Man of the Year, Couple of the Year, and Biggest Loser that I am aware of!
I have held my hat up for any further competitions and will enjoy someone getting the crown this year : )0 -
There's also Mr Sleek! I think it's the same week as Miss Slinky but not too sure. We've only got one guy in group at the moment so guess there won't really be a competition for Mr Sleek, LOL!
Not having a good day today! Got home late from shopping and couldn't be bothered to make myself a salad so just grabbed a couple of bits of bread and had a garlic sausage & cucumber sandwich so think that's about 10 syns:eek:. Looks like I'm going to be way over syns this week - I'm up to 112 already and there's still the rest of today and tomorrow to go.
Maman - I'll type up the recipe for lamb tagine in Word later and then cut and paste into a reply as I've already done it once and the site was playing up so I lost it - not a happy bunny:mad:.

Lol Mr Sleek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it - never heard of this.
We have one man in our group - he was just given the Man of the year stuff lol0 -
Well I have been on my walk and weighed myself...
To be accountable somewhere I'm currently 12st 4lb and I want to aim for my previous SW target which was 10st 10lb (though I won't mind hovering somewhere around there). That's 22lb to lose and to be kind to myself I'm going to say I'd like it gone for Wonder Bairn's birthday which is 26th March to give me some leeway but ideally 2lb a week for 11weeks which takes me up to mid January
So fingers crossed I should be back to 'me' by the second league weekend of the year in February (as the 1st league weekend is in 2 weeks!) feels manageable now I know what I'm working with************************************

Maman - lamb tagine recipe as requested
LAMB TAGINE SPICE MIX
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbs turmeric
1.5 Tbs paprika
1.5 Tbs ground ginger
Mix together thoroughly.
I usually double or treble the quantities and then store in a screw top jar and just guess the amount to use each time so every tagine tastes different!
Method
Use about half the above mix to coat diced lamb leg and marinade overnight in fridge.
Finely dice or grate a couple of onions and 1-2 cloves of garlic and fry until softened.
Throw into casserole dish or slow cooker.
Fry off the marinaded lamb until browned on all sides. Throw into dish you’re using.
Deglaze pan using some tomato juice, stock or water and add to dish.
You can add whatever veg you like, eg courgettes, carrots, celery. Pour over a tin or two of chopped tomatoes, a couple of squirts of tomato puree; and some stock if needed
To counteract the spices you need to add some sweetness. I usually add a few chopped dried apricots (2 apricots = 1.5 syns) and a sprinkle of flaked almonds (2 syns?) (8 syns per 25g). Also 1 Tbs of runny honey (1 syn).
The recipe I based my tagine on also adds dates, sultananas or raisons, but I leave these out.
Cook in oven at 150 C for 2-2.5 hours or in SC on low for 8 hours.
Serve with plain couscous.
I also found a chicken tagine recipe by James Martin on the web somewhere but can't remember which website but think it may have been his NHS TV series a few years ago. He served that with an amazing tabbouleh with pomegranite seeds! Might be worth looking up. It definitely wasn't as spicy as the lamb one I make.

I'd not heard of it either until last week when our consultant mentioned it - think it must be a new comp!
Looks like the one man in your group will get Mr Sleek as well then, LOL!

I can't wait to hear all about it lol!! and I'm sure he will be delighted as
Lush - what height are you? I am fascinated by peoples targets etc lol as the bmi nonsense has my head melted.
I'm 5.5 - a size 10 on the bottom and a 12 on the top and 10.11. My target is now 10.6. I was 9.13 but I think that was too low. 10.5 is the lightest I have ever been as an adult and whilst doing slimming world. Nothing is fat now just my little belly lol but I working on accepting that! I think I must have really heavy bones or something!0 -

I'm 5ft 6.5in according to the machine in Boots today
My original target was 10st 7lb but I amended it to 10st 10 and was rather happy at that to be honest, I don't want to be a skinny minny or super toned just...happy
any idea of the syns in the new birdseye steamfresh pasta? Bought the creamy cheese with peas and broccoli today on offer************************************
